How do mainland Chinese even get into it? It's so stacked against them. First you have poverty, then constant anti Japanese propaganda, then you have the blanket censorship online, then you need a Chinese person who liked Japan enough to learn Japanese and translate, lastly you need to find this game, and it's hardly got a huge marketing campaign.

Koreans aren't quite as dedicated but they're still more dedicated than us. Ironically porn is banned in both countries yet every new H-doujin still gets translated.

1. They are such weebs that they actually respect the wishes of an author not to upload RAWs.

2. Groups are more competitive, so RAWs are shared among group members only. In the West, the chance of a group being "beaten" to a translation is about 1 in a GCRascal.

3 They give -20 fucks about Non-Chinese anything, yet alone non-Chinese translators.

Now I fucking know there are a ton of Chinese Americans who can read either traditional characters or simplified characters, and could translate these if they wanted to. I don't know why there are not groups dedicated to that, besides complacency.

If my Chinese improves, I might start taking a whack at it.

----

Food for thought: There are two functioning niconico clones in Mainland China (Bilibili and ACfun) dedicated around otaku culture/anime, in spite of the fact that new anime is banned in China.

In the West, where people have free access to most anime and otaku tangents, and most of us have the money to partially support such a website, how many niconico-esque sites are there in the West?

Here's a good overview of continuity. You can read SSiB in its entirety before CiLR if you want (instead of interleaving), but you pretty much have to read both for the whole story. WaHH, FS, and OSP often intertwine because they run in serialization and happen more or less in real time. Secret Sealing Club stories are mostly a separate thing.

To everyone else in the thread who's not big into shooting games, try Shoot the Bullet.
It lets you go super aggressive and kill the boss in seconds, but also allows you to play defensively and carefully take them down as slowly as you're comfortable.
Most importantly, instead of lives you just restart the fight when you die. You can try out kooky strategies and play how you want without worrying about getting sent to the high score screen.

>I utterly rape him
>"hey man let's play the fighter instead, I'm better at them"

>we never play again

At least he was more interested by the games than secondary shit

I'd argue any east asian, dude that lives two aparments from the right of me moved in like a week ago from korea, we know eachother soley on the basis we both play touhou and he's into just as much as i am.

My sheer autism keeps us from bonding over anything else

(I found out he was into it because i saw him drying a sanae dakimakura)

Why not just make it official and create a crossboard general for you human refuse that wish to turn this place into another /avb?
/jp/ has been on its deathbed for years and you're handing it a dose of poison.

Now you're just trying to justify wasting so much time. The games aren't hard even on lunatic, and are very simple. A couple different lines of dialogue isn't enough to play it with other characters. People going for self-imposed challenges are by definition a smaller part of the majority.

It's cute and fun, just like every other big name Touhou song from back in the day. There's nothing wrong with it. But the issue here is that through overexposure, people who are more than familiar with those kinds of songs got sick of them. A lot of people who aren't too familiar with doujin music think that those arranges are the only ones to exist/can't be bothered to or simply don't want to listen to newer songs, so there's a bit of a clash between these two kinds of people.

Didn't ZUN originally just want to make music, but he only wanted to make instrumentals and knew those wouldn't get popular, so he decided using them in a game would be his best bet?

Shit, I accidentally pressed send before typing.

A lot of artists on Pixiv post their art on Tumblr. I've noticed that sometimes they'll post WIPs there and not elsewhere, so if you really like their art it's best to follow them wherever they post.

From my understanding, ZUN specifically wanted to be a video game composer. He started making games so he could make games he wanted to play, and by extension, create the music he wanted to create.
