Girls like Paruru are what make AKB special. She was someone who never pretended to be something she wasn't or say anything she didn't mean. Some people look at her handshake wall and see it as a salty girl putting barriers between her and the fans without seeing that she opened that barrier--vulnerable and scared as she was, every single time she greeted you. Others would look at her blunt way of speaking and call her salty and rude, without seeing that she was always honest and true to herself--and through this honesty, you could see that she was truly a sweet girl. She hid nothing. Neither the bad nor the good. Seeing a pic of a girl smiling with her friends, who smiles at everything, would be pleasant. But seeing a picture of Paruru, who never wore a false grin, smiling so brightly with her friend Yuihan, and knowing that she genuinely loves her and is genuinely happy... It almost brings a tear to my eye.
Without knowing how to work, you gave maximum effort. Without lungs to breathe, you danced and sang without air. Without knowing how to talk to strangers and despite your fears, you found a way to give handshakes. And without knowing how to be an idol, or even how to try and be one, imperfect, unskilled and ignorant as you were, through honesty and dumb luck, the girl who should least of all have become an idol ended up becoming the best idol that ever was.
The sky will lose a star when Paruru is finally gone, and the night of life will seem just that much darker. We love you, Paruru.
