It just looks like shit game to play considering no tactile response from touchscreen and I personally don't like motion sensors in arcades, with buttons/turntable/knobs you usually know why your input didn't count but with motions sensors you can only "get it". But I didn't play it so I want to know.

>> No.15804490

>>15804446
I'd like to try it sometime. Seems interesting.

I'm typically not a fan of touchscreen based games and it seems that it might be difficult to exactly judge the air movements. Also, that horrrendously loud clicking sound might put me off a bit.

Yeah, that's why it'd never be my go-to game. It'd be a fun thing to play occasionally like Jubeat but I'd never regularly play it like DDR, IIDX, SDVX, or Pop'n.

EZ2AC shit from last thread got me to pondering.

Would this work as a pedal if I made my own controller? With just a regular ol' Zerodelay board/Arduino. I can't see why it wouldn't.

And does EZ2AC have the mode with the two extra buttons as well? All these EZ2Whateverthefuck games are sort of confusing in their distinctions.

>> No.15804678

>>15804585
Make sure the pedal you buy is an on/off toggle, you don't want pedals which report levels of pressure (i.e. a piezo element).

>> No.15804695

I assume they just use a mono pole TRS connector. Even if they don't wouldn't using one limit it only to a toggle if I solder the right pins on the jack?

The lack of response from the touch panel is not that big an issue beyond the risk of bashing your fingers into it too hard.

The air system also works pretty well assuming you're in an appropriate position. I only play up to level 11/12 so at higher levels YMMV but otherwise it's probably easier to adapt to than SDVX's knobs. If you miss it's because you're weren't high enough or your timing was off.

The new update has added complexity to the air notes, but the basic system is pretty fun.

Finally got to go to Round 1 on labor day, and aside from dealing with annoying SDVX connection issues it was pretty much as great as I expected. Museca was also surprisingly fun, I remember thinking it looked gimmicky as hell. And after trying out the actual IIDX switches I find it hard to go back to my modded KOC.

Why does the sole Pop'n machine look so old, though?

I've been playing rhythm games for years, and despite having reached the 'endgame' difficulties in all of them, I've never been able to get better timing.
It's like I'm some special kind of retarded, despite clearing 45 on Pop'n I can't get over 90k unless I'm playing on 30-, just like I can't get under 50 slow/fast on beatmania unless I'm playing a song under 6 in difficulty

I submit that the 41-43 Pop'n wall is THE most oppressive wall in all of Bemani.

There are easy 10s, 11s, and 12s in IIDX
There are easy 15s in SDVX
The curves for GF and DM are rather Gentle
DDR really has no walls. A 19 is not in another dimension than an 18.

I've wondered for a while how that chain of distribution for DJH works.

As far as I can surmise, there is at least one person in Japan who pays for this shit, and own a legitimate machine and pays Konami their legitimate dues. And since they switched over to upgrading over internet instead of mailing out hard drives (since Lincle, or Tricoro?) there's almost nothing they can do about it.

Sure if that person is outed, they'll shut their shit down but as far as I can tell it's a lot like HorribleSubs. They know one of their legitimate, paying customers is doing it, they just have no way to know which one.

They could do some extra work and hash every file so it's specific to a subscriber, but I'm sure that could get scrubbed pretty easily.

Foam-filled soft pads are the standard choice, they're all pretty much okay. DDR Game makes decent ones from what I've heard. Redoctane Ignitions were standard for the longest time but they aren't in production anymore.

As for anything more serious, I can't recommend a Precision Dance Pad for the price. They're decently functional (they handle jumps and jacks poorly but are actually quite nice for streaming) It's literally made of masonite board, duct tape, velcro, and tin foil. The sensors are fucking sheets of tin foil.

I've heard decent to good things about the DDR Game hard pads (specifically the ones with green arrows that look like arcade, energy i think is the name)

Your other best option is finding a used Cobalt Flux or Blueshark. They're very good quality and the golden standard for home pads, pretty much. But they're not produced new, and you may have to do a bit of maintenance work.

The pad that's being worked on for Rhythm Horizon is a 9 panel pad with pressure sensitive sensors.

Here's some videos.

Nope. They're still a work in progress and won't be released until late 2017/early 2018 unfortunately.

I'm glad people think random is cheating because it gives me an excuse to not play random when really I think it's much harder

Consider investing in an used arcade cabinet and salvage the pad or the whole machine if you can.

..or you could make a metal pad made of solid wood with official sensors and 1 cm acrylic panels.
The four acrylic panels will cost you $66, the 16 sensors(4 sensors each panel) will cost you $144.

That alone puts you above $200, and this is buying cheap $9 sensors if you want higher quality sensors you're going to have to pay $19 each sensor, add another $40 to $50 for the galvanized steel(price depending on thickness) to reinforce it and give it that arcade feel and you're well above $250 NOT including the solid wood which is way more expensive than the cheap MDF that most metal panels use including probably and most likely >>15826717 too judging by the thickness it looks like it uses 3/4 in MDF, though I could be wrong but if I indeed am wrong and those panels are not made from MDF, then the price will be well above $300, anyway back to the panel, add another $60 for the wood and you're now above $300 FOR ONE PANEL, $600 for two at this point you might as well try to find a cheap arcade cabinet to buy.

This is how Blueshark Pads were made albeit cheaper acrylic 0, make it 3inches thick and you're all set.

Make the sensor like this guy and you will only have to worry about countersinking the step by replacing the foam tape.

How to instantly improve DDR Ace: Make the default folder the Ace folder instead of "Popular Songs". Either than or beg Dancemania to revive a metric fuckload of old licenses to fill out the folder. I'm sick of hearing Time Of Our Lives in conjunction with random panel mashing.

It was fun enough but Nostalgia seemed more like a game that'd get some traction. Otoiroha may go the way of Future Tom Tom (dropped like a stone) or Museca/Beatstream (supported, but clearly 2nd/3rd tier) when it does eventually come out.
