I thought UBW and Fate were kinda lame, but since /jp/ would always claim that HF was the best, I expected it to make up for things. It did not.

Sakura is kind of a lame villain. Dark Sakura is a little too whiny to be truly badass.

Shirou one-shotting Berserker is bullshit. The guy deserves better.

True Assassin rarely got to do anything cool. Half the time he'd just show up, act cool, and then throw a bunch of dirks to absolutely no effect. And his death was lame.

No option to enjoy a meal with Kotomine. Bullshit.

And the worst part is that I still have no explanation after playing HF for that angry-Sakura-eating-a-fish image. That shit will haunt me to the grave.

In HF, when Gilgamesh fucked Sakura up and she just went CHOMP I couldn't believe it, the badass (not necessarily good, just badass) villain in all the other routes was annihilated in one shot.. so later on I kept expecting Gilgamesh to show up and wipe the floor with Sakura or someone because he always lived 'till the end before

For Lancer/Caster's backstories just see Wikipedia Cu Chulainn/Medea, or their Status menu articles, which is basically the same treatment as Saber's backstory. Berserker got one since he lived with Ilya basically forever, Archer got one because HE'S YOU, Saber got one because that's the entire point of the first route

I also wanted to see Archer live and fight with Shirou, even with only one arm, so he could die in a stunningly awesome way sacrificing himself for everyone else. Shirou became almost as awesome as he was in UBW in this route, but he needed to fight more. Everything was saved until the very end. It felt like most of the time, there was nothing but fucking sakura, cooking, and patrolling that turned up NO results at all.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily expect more backstory for him, but it would have been nice if he'd had an actual chance to engage in typical shonen shit stuff. F/SN is full of characters winning shit through sheer badass gear, and it's nice to see a random human who's powerful enough to challenge legitimate Servants simply through training like a motherfucker.
