Why would a 100 yen coin lie on the ground in the middle of Nowhere, southwestern Siberia?

My grandmother stumbled upon 100 yen somewhere around this location. She couldn't identify it, so she asked me about strange coin with hieroglyphs and flowers.

There is a television station/TV channel HQ close by, my best guess is that some correspondent dropped it, although I doubt they have their own people to travel outside of the province, let alone country.

Probably it's really just a random passersby who visited Japan and kept the coin in his wallet as lucky charm or something.

Or maybe it was a Chinese, there are many chinks on business/emigration trip in Siberia.
