"That Anon" here.

Just normal eggs. Kind of a gimmicky thing to draw people there (especially if the hot spring is closed, like it was when I went - fecking bastard volcano!)

Just a normal hardboiled egg, But if you do pick up a street whore, you might as well make her eat these. They supposedly extend your life by 7 years, so they say. Per egg.

I was there last summer for a few weeks as well, anon. Where did you go?

I arrived in Narita, in early June, chilled out for a few days because it was my first plane flight and my anxiety was through the roof, couldn't eat or sleep for a few days.

After that passed, I went to Akihabara, Shibuya, saw the sights around Tokyo. Then I spent a week in Kyoto and another in Osaka.

How did your trip go? Where did you go? Pic related is where I stayed in Osaka, tiny and blazing hot.

Actually just graduated from high school then, so I went with a group from the school in early July. Landed in Narita, but went and spent a couple days in Aizu. If I remember correctly we went to Kyoto after that for a bit, and visited Nara afterwards(my favorite place on the trip). Then Hiroshima and Tokyo. Actually got to home stay with a really cool family in Chiba, thank goodness they knew English well because I actually am studying Chinese, not Japanese. Spent about a week in the Tokyo area, visited Akihabara a couple of times and other spots. Great trip, though kind of stressful, mostly because of the people on it. A lot of the kids complained constantly or wouldn't listen, others were genuinely autistic. Also had some problems with an ex who went as well. Luckily I got to spend a few days afterwards with close friends after the rest left. But overall it was really memorable and fun. Would really like to go back.

pic related is one I took of Akihabara

That sounds like a bunch of fun, if you had some friends with you. Nara sounds like a great place, hadn't heard of it before my trip though.

I, for some reason, went with my cousin, so I wouldn't have to be completely alone, and that was a total mistake. She knew nothing about Japan, and asked three million questions and consistently repeated "haha, so random, so weird." Would not travel with her ever again, next time I'm going alone.

Out of simple curiosity, what makes you study Chinese? Any plans?

I've been interested in Chinese culture since I was a kid, so that's what I studied it for a language in High School. I actually only recently became interested in Japanese a couple years back. But I do intend to get back into Chinese for college and hopefully become, or at least get close to being fluent in it. One of my hopes is to work oversees somewhere in China.

That's awesome. Well, I've heard that learning either Chinese or Japanese makes learning the other much easier because of the shared kanji and similar grammar, so it shouldn't be too hard getting back into it. I've been teaching myself Japanese for a few years, pretty proficient. In college for my four year degree now so I can work in Japan afterwards.

Good luck on making it to the far east as well, anon.

Funny you mention that. One of my Japanese friends told me about a report he read in a popular science magazine that deals with exactly that phenomenon. It's called digital dementia (or something similar to that, I can't provide a source right now). This was posted months ago, but a new maid cafe was opening up in Akiba that was like French/Victorian in style, looked more like a whole in the wall cafe than a standard maid cafe, but my Japanese is too shit to locate the site and it can't be searched for in English. If anyone can pull up info on it I would appreciate it, I don't know where else to ask as I am pretty sure it was posted in one of these threads.

I couldn't find it on that site unfortunately, I was able to find it in my search history though by going back a few months, I appreciate your help though.

I normally loath the idea of going to maid cafe as they seem like tourist traps and or very gimmicky, but this place had a a rather inviting feel to it from the photos and by layout of the cafe. I think it captures a nice old time cafe/teahouse quite well. I found a review of the place if anyone is interested and for me personally, I think it lives up to what I would want out of visiting a place like this,
no love writing on the food, no photos of the maids, just simply a cafe were the workers dress in pretty maid outfits and where one can just simply read a book while enjoying some nice tea or maybe enjoy a board game or two with a local.

I have been to Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka (lol), Inuyama and Tsuruga castles and Inuyama was definitely the best.
The rest have been rebuilt as museums (except Fukuoka) which usually means no photos on most of the floors and quite a modern feel.
You take off your shoes before entering Inuyama castle, the staircases are friggen steep, it's not air conditioned and while there is display stuff around you're allowed to take photos of it.

Highlights by far were the huge shopping malls in Tokyo (Tokyu Hands and Seibu and stuff, I'm big on urban / capitalist shit) and the endless train rides (I'm also an anorak). I went with a group trip organized by a manga site so for the most part it was them wondering why I didn't drool over animu, and me wondering why they didn't drool over five hours rides on a local train line.

Sorry, I'm not good at English.
風景 and 景色 have the same mean.
But you should choice these words when or where you are.
For example, you can say "良い景色だなあ; What a good scenery", but usually not the other.
I think 景色 is the real scenery you see, and 風景 is contains your mind (feeling good, folk, or halcyon days) .
風 is also used in 風情 that means Japanese 侘び寂び(wabisabi),so 風景 is the scenery you feel wabisabi mind or something good.

You should drop by a service center in Japan sometime.

I have had my Nikon sensor cleaned a few times, costs 1800yen and takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

Also those spots should be easy to remove in Lightroom. I went through a phase on my second trip where I couldn't seem to not get dust on my sensor.
