News:
-The Summer 2016 event is a 4 map event based on the Naval Battle off Malaya titled "2nd Naval Battle off Malaya", and scheduled to last a little over 2 weeks.
-Each map is based on an operation, with E3 being based on the eponymous operation and E4, Battle at Straits of Malacca, being an expansion operation.
-4 ships have been implemented for this event: E1 drop I-26, E2 reward Minazuki, E3 drop Aquila and E4 reward Warspite.
-Land-based squadrons have been rebalanced for this event; squadron range is now determined by the plane with the lowest range (unless flying boats are added), and fatigue recovers faster with "wait" and "rest" than they did in spring. Air defence mode is also now more effective.
-You can now toggle Ooyodo's voices on/off on the quest page in the volume settings.
-New registrations have been halted for a few days to stabilise the servers.
-30 kanmusu have received new Midsummer voice lines, adding to the already implemented Midsummer lines and overlapping with the Early Summer lines.
-Seasonal sprites for summer, including new swimsuit seasonal sprites for Mamiya, Irako, Kazagumo, Okinami, Isuzu, Fusou, Yamashiro, Yamato, Haruna, Mikuma, Taigei/Ryuuhou and Ooyodo, fixed swimsuit seasonal sprites for Oboro and Akebono, and a seasonal sprite for Mizuho with iced red beans have been implemented.
-A large collaboration with an autumn festival motif is scheduled for autumn. "That type" of aircraft and a new system will also finally be introduced in autumn or later, as will a new ship that will drop in normal maps.

You'll get fucked in the ass with this setup. My fleet got misdirected to air raid node before I started using 7 instead of 6 "special" ships (check the whole list on wikia). You'll retreat more often not only because BB node a shit, but because "escort first" policy makes you vulnerable on the Wo node and even on the second node. If you want to use 3DDs, I recommend Suijou with 2CVL.

Been testing land base comps vs regular fleet comps (ie, E2).

Basically with stacking plane accuracy, it's been preferable so far to have regular torp bombers with accuracy boosts + skilled 21 as opposed to stacking land bombers.

On node I hard, this setup with LBAS planes pretty much erase about half the fleet before opening air exchange happens.

This comp gives 61 TP with A rank and averaged 3 buckets a run, taking 7 runs. If you don't have enough daihatsu fill in the slots with drums. I set my airbase with 2 fighters and 2 land bombers and sent both waves to node I. Again, the key is to survive the route and kill the DDs at the boss node to get A rank, don't bother going into yasen it's a waste of buckets and cuts morale.

Funnily enough Teruzuki was level 1 when I started and that no fucks were given, it was that easy.

Seeing Kancolle is so RNG reliant there is the possibility I could do the 14DD fleet and complete every map without being sent back.

That and the yasen node can be annoying, but the biggest cockblock is the boss composition itself, 2 BB hime + CA hime (189 armour) is really hard to break. I have gotten C and D so far. For the yasen node, I would suggest stacking up on the star shell so you can lower the chances of BB Hime doing a cut-in.

CTF will help you though the air raids but ultimately fuck you up on the boss node. For STF, you can use LBAS to cover the air raids.
