/jp/, I want to spend money on these occasions but it's so cumbersome.
I can navigate the catalogue and know what I want to buy, but the only way to get stuff is via proxy service of which I don't know whether and when it stocks specific event merchandise, if at all. I don't want to spend a gajillion years scouring for an item for which I've already made the decision that I want to buy it. Last time I did that was for the DoD3 Super Special Turbo Hyper HD edition, and I really love Yoko Taro. I really do. I don't think you can imagine how much. I also don't want to wait three months for shipping, Minoshima will have released five new albums in that time frame! Not to mention customs. Half an hour of driving for them to tell me that I have to pay 19% on top of everything, if I forget to bring some sort of receipt, fat chance, at least I get a coffee, because I'm already on first-name basis with the clerks there. No, really. They think my fumos are cute.

Most of my friends who started out drawing "seriously", as in realistic faces, backgrounds, objects, ect can also draw animu shit pretty well.

Most of my weeb friends who started out drawing Chinese hieroglyphics mainly either gave up or post their cringe-tier art on social networking sites. Not saying this is a bad method, though; plenty of people have success with it as it's way more fun.

A good analogy would be.... do you lift weights, play games, or have any competitive hobbies/skills? There are always those people who don't improve and plateau because they aren't deliberating practicing. (Though, weightlifting is different due to genetics, drug usage, diet, sleep, ect so maybe that isn't the best analogy. But you see those people who go to the gym for years with zero progress, or it's like those people who dump like 5k hours into an online game and they're still bottom-ranking). Same kind of goes for typing(most people type at like 60 wpm their entire lives even if they spend most of their day on a computer) or things like programming, memory training, ect.

It is best to start young, but you can get good at something at an old age... especially if you're NEET and can sink hundreds of hours into something.

but I was really questioning this recommendation when one of the first exercises is "Draw someone's face from memory" or something like that.

Get Notepad++, open new file and set encoding to UTF-8 BOM.

Open cue in NPP, copy paste everything into the new file you opened earlier, save with extension .cue. The new cue should be de-mojibake'd.

If it doesn't work you could try running NPP in a different locale.
