The way I see it is the reality where Nagisa kicks the bucket along with Ushio continues, but the wish opens up a new, alternate reality where Nagisa lives and creates the good end.

At least, that's the impression it left me with. The damage was already done after I finished the true end, the good end tried to cheer me up but I just couldn't accept it.

Poor Tomoya.... I seriously would've killed myself in his situation, and Ushio's death was probably the camel that broke the back for Nagisa's parents since they were the ones who actually raised her.

Are there any untranslated VNs that are the same or an even more depressing than Clannad?

I've played just about every translated VN around and Clannad blew them all out of the water, mostly because it was so long that you actually had a sort of bond with the characters.
