News:
-Spring 2016 Event will end on June 1. It is a 7 map event split into 3 parts: Initial, Expansion and Final Operations.
-Ranking rewards are out with the new Prototype 61cm Sextuple (Oxygen) Torpedo Mount.
-Rainy Season will start after the maintenance with new furniture.
-Unintended stats gains on new ships and Pola not being able to equip seaplane fighters have been fixed. Oyashio also has an increased drop rate.
-Land based planes not doing their correct damage and enemy raids not happening have been fixed.
-Players who reached E-6 before the emergency patch will get an exclusive apology furniture and an early Summer event equipment reward for their troubles after the event.
-Kamikaze class DDs Kamikaze and Harukaze, Oyashio, Pola and Iowa are available in this event.
-New equipment such as the Catalina, interceptor fighters and Iowa's OS2U stock equipment can be earned this event.
-Land-based aircraft and their famed pilots have been added. They can be used with the new land-based aerial support mechanic which can also accommodate naval aircraft. Land-based air squadrons will be able to aid your fleet at up to 2 specific nodes.
-The first part consists of 4 maps. E3 rewards Kamikaze along with the ability to use the new aerial support mechanic.
-The second part consists of 1 map, which rewards Pola and is optional.
-The third part consists of 2 maps, which rewards Iowa for the final map.
-The max slot counts have been increased to 290/1260 for ships/equipment respectively.
-An Asashio class DD will get her Kai 2 this spring.
-Android lottery results are out, the 250k winners must wait until June 10th to gain access.

This fleet served me pretty well on E-7 Kuso up until the Last Dance, where it's failed twice. I'm very low on both fuel and ammo, so I can only probably make 1 or 2 more tries. Any tweaks you would suggest? At this point I'm just trying to clear before the time's out.

iirc you don't have enough plane range to hit the boss node with your first and second squads. Since it's easy, you really don't need that many fighters for the first squad either.

Recommend you move one of the LBAS bombers to first squad and replace the reppuu and shiden kai with Type 21 zeroes if you have them. Fighters are the easiest to level anyway.

Use the anger as a fuel for motivation toward improving your fleet. Wo might be right about many things but levels do matter a lot. The time when you have dozens of ships above level 80 or 90 is great because then you can just use whoever you like while knowing you'll be fine no matter the situation.
Quests, especially weeklies, are good because they give screws and exp accumulates quite fast without you noticing. By doing them I rarely had to do dedicated grinding.

I'm almost certain engagement matters in yasen vs subs in combined fleet.
In redT by ships (each with T3 sonar +1) only did 1-2 damage to gold sub. In doukousen they did like 15 or 20 while Abu without ASW barely penetrated the gold sub. Now it was hankousen and Mutsuki with one T3 +1 needed a crit to do 25 damage.

I also remember that in Fall E4 my waifu scored impossible hit vs SS Hime in yasen but it was green T in day battle.

Other subs lose because they suck so much performance-wise when compared to Ro or even the weaker Yuu.
Subs are mostly used for Orel and Ro is invincible while other subs get wrecked all the time. On maps like 4-2 or 5-4 it isn't much different, Ro evades much better and even if she gets hit, it takes little time to repair her instead of 2-4 hours.

Oh, yeah. The story in this event connected together much better than the others, I felt. Probing the area around an atoll, attacking the base there, transporting the materials there under enemy fire, further securing the area, taking a brief trip to deal with another issue going on elsewhere, and finally using your new bases to launch a long-range attack on a major enemy stronghold.

Game does desperately need an injection of fresh content, more than the trickle of Kai Nis / maps that happens annually. Most of the veterans (i.e. a significant proportion of /jp/) only really play enough to get their dailies / weeklies / monthlies done, plus farm whatever they need in terms of resources and consumables, then go back to idling.

There's the perpetually high-tempo trauma of ranking, too, but I don't think that's sustainable for anyone. (That said, this is /jp, so who knows.)

Sure, you get events 4 times a year, but that's time-limited content. Player interest probably spikes around then, but it's not going to sustain your player base in the long run. (Especially after the clownfest that was this event.)

The closest analogy I can think of is something like an expansion pack for MMOs, only those actually cost money. Around that level of content. New maps, new bote waifus, new equipment. (New items?) It'll give people a reason to start caring about the game again. But this'll probably never happen for a F2P game, it's too much time and effort. You could do it launching a base game, but otherwise it's really difficult to pull off.

As time went on, more one of a kind equipment was added. To the point where entire fleets are filled with them. That stuff that can't be replaced no matter what, and will permanently weaken your fleet if lost. Nothing's worth losing that. Even if you have the willpower to kill your girls and level them all the way back up, the very nature of the game requires people to hang onto what they have if they want to keep beating hard mode. This game makes people attached to their girls, so the thought of sinking them to aid the player's progress may naturally sicken some people like yourself, even if the intended victims are level 1 ships. In other words, they place upon themselves a moral limiter while playing the game. Now, that is fine.

However, I do not think that being outside of one's moral limiter makes a method bad. It is still within what the devs intend. As long as they allow it, it's fine in my book. Sinking ships to make progress is not something I personally do, but I do not begrudge others for doing it.
