So I just watched machine girl (fucking awesome), Kisaragi (hilarious) suicide club, whiteout, and tons of J-horror...

Anyone have any recommendations on some other "newer" kick ass J-flicks?

kagehinata ni saku is pretty cool if you like that sort of thing. Everyone on the plane was crying.

Slightly related to this, does anyone know a sappy drama movie where the main protagonist is a twenty-something girl who works in a pen store and plays the mandolin. She moves into a new apartment and finds the diary of the previous owner. She reads it and we get told both their stories, which end up intermixing.

I think the newest one i've seen that i enjoyed was tenten.

It kind of reminded me of an over the top Quentin Tarantino flick without Tarantino. (it almost reminded me of grindhouse)

The opening credits are QT esq to me...

Though, the movie doesn't have a deep plot or anything, but it is pretty good if you are looking for a change of pace.
