PCB is only boring if your stuck between difficulties, or can't even beat easy modo. You won't get bored from Hard to Lunatic, because extra falls somewhere between those two. But finally 1ccing Normal or Hard is a big gap to overcome.

It's not about deep character interaction.

Heck, 3/4 of the characters that appear in a Touhou game never even show up in a second game unless you count Shoot the Bullet, which has no interactions.

Most of the deepness that comes from the characters are all fanbased stuff.

The games are about gameplay. It's about learning how to dodge, and forming the reaction skills necessary in order to be able to 1CC hard mode as a distant but realistic goal.

The Lolis are there just so you can have something to fap about when you get frustrated playing and dieing all the time.
