The guy in part 2 mentions working for a company until retirement, and I do have to agree that there are big similarities to this and being a company slave.
The biggest problem I have accepting this lifestyle are the living conditions, I'd never be content with sleeping on a chair.
With proper money management (i.e. not buying premade food every time because that is way more expensive than cooking yourself) you can live sort of comfortably if all you need is a PC and an internet connection.
The point of pursuing your dreams is a tough one, because everyone has their dreams, right?
And just having a dream doesn't mean that pursuing it is a possibility.
In the end it's obviously his (guy in part 1) choice to live his life like this, and I'm not going to criticize him for choosing that life as long as he isn't delusional about himself (pic related).
With delusional I mean that he should be aware of his own situation, his own capabilities (not thinking that he's a super cool number 1 artist when in reality his skill isn't far above average for the industry), and how other people will see him. If, after all this he is still content with his life and the meager chances of his dream becoming true, then I really can't criticize him.

"get a well-paying job to support yourself and your family", every kid, especially asian ones, is taught this at an early age. Yet some look at it and see a path of 40 years working at a job they don't really love, just so at the end of it they can say "I have a house, a wife, a kid, and a dog". So they choose to pursue what they love instead, even if they know they have little chance at success. Why? Because they don't want to have an aching regret of not having taken a shot.

This is in fact one of the major reasons for low motivation in the workplace. Some employees, even middle managers, are just anxious to clock out to go back to their personal life hobbies, i.e, "doing what they love".

It may be true for developing countries, who rely on exports, foreign investment, etc. Not so much developed ones whose domestic markets are strong.

A large number of mid-size to large business in Europe don't speak English. They speak French, German, Italian. Of course, they have their own English-speaking people to deal with Anglo partners.
