The real reason Alice became a youkai was she wanted to be prepared. The zombie apocalypse has already whipped out both the outside world, and the Makai. Only Gensokyo was safe, but not for long. It was only a matter of time before Yukari accidentally brought one of those things into Paradise. Only by becoming a youkai, would Alice ever truly be safe, for now, she never has to sleep and let her gaurd down.

"Baal" is a very, VERY generic name and can be applied to a dozen demons.

Berith is also equal to Belial, Beelzebub(or Ba'al Zebub, as the name Baal gets the fuck around you see), and Astaroth, who are all princes/dukes/lords of Hell.
Satan and Lucifer are one step above and may be considered equals to each other, standing as the Kings of Hell.

Demons are a TYPE of Youkai. Just like Vampires.

Demons also live in the realms of Makai, where Alice is from, wherever the fuck Subterranean Animism takes place, and Yomi.

Also, Demons are NOT synonymous with Oni. Onis are a TYPE of Demon, like a Gargoyle or Succubus.
