-There will be maintenance on March 11 for updates, White Day voice lines and world 6-4 map.
-Satsuki has received her kai 2 and remodels at level 75.
-Verniy can now equip torpedo bulges and daihatsu landing craft.
-Hinamatsuri season has started with with many new voice lines and marriage line updates.
-Prototype 35.6cm, 41cm and Dazzle Camo guns can now be upgraded.
-Ro.43 can now be crafted and be upgraded alongside Observation Seaplanes.
-Remodeled Pasta ships can now equip and launch seaplane bomber aircraft.
-According to Comptiq published on Jan 2016, they're preparing for a bit new things for the second half of this year.
-Spring event will be themed "Total War".
-The class from before Mutsuki class is planned to be added.
-The USN shipgirl is Iowa and is available in the PS Vita's edition. Later implementation is planned for the browser game.
-More foreign ships, small and large, will be added to KanColle Kai other than Iowa before the browser version.
-There are plans to implement installation bases, land-based aircraft, and their famed pilots for the player side.
-Iowa-class implementation to start sometime after Spring.
-Android pre-registration has started, only 100k will be selected via a lottery by the next maintenance.

So I'm trying to upgrade my planes via the F13 and F14 quests - Both planes are unlocked and both are on my flagship. I did F14 with no problem whatsoever however F13 refuses to complete. I've unequipped everything bar the Torpedo Bomber (which is still unlocked) and I have nobody else in my fleet, I've scrapped multiple tenzans yet it still isn't doing anything. When you see the devs start tweeting about the event, it's a good time to stockpile, which is 2-3 weeks, maybe a month ahead of time. If you keep it up, you will get to 5-4 fast for a much easier time leveling pretty much anything. Though for medals, 3-5 might be a hurdle for a while until you finally optimize the girls.

There are many compositions for 2-5

1) Abukuma 2DD 3CVL
This one is the best. Due to 2-5 not having any TSUU and needing only 1Reppuu for AS, the combination of torpedo bombers and Abukuma will clear out everything before the first shelling phase. Give your carrier a wrench or yellow gun so that they can do first strike.

2) 4CA 2CAV (Nachi monthly)
CAV used for gaining AS, thats it. Compass roll is about 75% to north but you can bring 2drums to fix it. You can also replace any of them and bring torpedo sluts.

3) 1CA 1CL 4DD
This is the BM7 composition where you can ignore it.

I've done north with 4 CA's, 2CAV's (exceptions are the 3rd run every month for the DD quest, and that one kasumi quest). I've never tried south since the summer update, maybe it's better now, but still, why try another route when the one you use now works just fine? I find moving plane equipments to be a fucking hassle, and worrying about AS+ is even more annoying, whereas the CA's I use in 2-5 north can then be used in 4-5 while only changing the t32 radar to a t3 shell, also I'm pretty sure CA's have a shorter repair time compared to CVL's (please correct me if I'm wrong).

I guess I just don't want to waste bauxite because I still haven't gotten taihou after around a hundred tries, and still don't have all the radars I want, although I can see why you guys might want to go south, especially if you are a new player without all the CA's in level 90+

I was also one of the people who told CVB users to go back to wikia but that happened because they were clearly spamming CVB for trolling purposes in relation to wikia drama.
Before the drama I never had problem with the term but didn't use it either. With passing months I became more and more certain that with Cranes present in the game, it has its undeniable value and the usage shouldn't be discouraged. I don't use Taihou so I usually use "Cranes" when talking about my comps but there were times when I used CVB in reply to other person.
I'm are aware that term isn't technically correct but it's been used so much we can give it a free pass especially since there are two factors (KCV and wikia) that won't change their mind about the usage. And both of those factors are much bigger than population of KanColle threads on /jp/. And honestly, there's no harm in using "CVB".

Since quite some time it's been just one or at most two retards who have no idea what common sense is, sperging about the CVB.
They're far worse to the threads than very useful shortcut for Cranes and Taihou.

If you are really new you are into a train of pain going through 2-5 north. Cruisers and such only start getting really good at levels 70 and above because their main mean of survival is evasion which can only get with levels.

What I do is I do 4-3 and equip the destroyer with 1 type 4 passive sonar and 1 type 3 depth charge as flagship, 1 BBV without zuiun, 2 CLTs, preferably unremodeled KTKM and Ooi with 1 type 93 sonar and a minisub, 1 CV with only 2 red planes, and a CV(L) with the same that I want to get some passive experience.

The weak destroyer will usually get MVP on the sub nodes despite low level by virtue of better equipment, so it generally takes 8-10 runs to get them to level 20.

Nobody knows, there are too many variables. It's best to have big fleet but it definitely isn't necessary, especially for clearing maps. It should be possible with Kai modernized (max fp, tp, armor) as long as they have good setups but each level slightly increases accuracy and evasion.
If you can beat 5-4, you should have no problem with 5-1, 5-2 and 5-4.

It's the repair docks at first. Then after a month or so you'll run out of slots and have to get some space. Then the first event comes and you'll be drowning in rare drops making you want to get even more slots. Not really. I have 129 ships above level 50 and still use additional docks a lot. I usually have bottom two docks occupied with some longer repairs while upper two are for scratch/bucketing. They save me 2+ buckets every single day. back when I bought them it was 10+. Their value is immense.

Anything you want to level is fine. I usually use a CA. It's worth using FBB so you don't take any torpedoes in the first battle. Only take out FBB if you're running out of resources and don't mind increased bucket loss. Go for 350 fighter power, easily doable with 5 planes if you have Reppuu or better.

3 guns still triggers daytime double attack. Yasen doesn't matter since you're not supposed to go yasen in the first place. One gun makes huge difference in whether you get through BB/CV armor, especially if you roll hankousen.

Assuming 2 guns and T1 AP shell setup, Yamato's firepower can range from 182 (with 2x 38cm Kai guns) to 208 (with 2x 51cm guns). The maximum possible upgrade bonus, assuming max guns and max T1 AP shell, is (1.5+1.5+1)√10 = 4√10 ≈ 12.6491.

In single fleet, 151/0.8 = 188.75 damage is required to reach cap in hankousen. 2x 38cm Kai is more than enough to reach that.
To reach cap in doukousen while chuuha, 151/0.7 = 215 5/7 ≈ 215.7143 damage is required. Thus the firepower needed = ⌈215.7143 - 5 - 12.6491⌉ = ⌈198.0652⌉ = 199. Total gun firepower needs to be equal to 199 - 9 - 139 = 51. This is achievable with 2x 46cm, or 51cm + proto 41cm.

In combined fleet, the explanation is 2 threads back, but the gist is that in both kidou and suijou 2x 38cm Kai is enough to reach cap in chuuha doukousen, whereas cap in red T is unattainable in kidou (although 2x 51cm comes close) and you need 51cm + at least a proto 41cm to reach it in suijou.

My 100USD Chinese tablet with just 2GB RAM can run it smoothly with KCV+Logbook+MyFleetGirls+ Some other webpages so it shouldn't be a problem for basically all computers.
