Which Touhous would make the best adventuring party?

Marisa's a good option, along with some relatively low powered 2hus like the Aki sisters or the 9 squad. Bringing someone like Reimu or Sakuya along would make everything dull.

Youmu: Highly skilled frontline swordsman with specialties in destroying undead.
Nazrin: Nimble rogue-type with superior item finding capability
Marisa: Wizard, maybe not as strange or versatile as Patchouli, but wont get tired or injured as easily outdoors.
Eirin: Healer with an archer subclass so she isn't a complete useless support slut.

ALTERNATIVELY for a more direct approach.

Momiji: Easy choice for a frontline defender.
Mokou: Literally immortal. Elemental fighter.
Byakuren: Frontline psuedo-cleric/mage with magic to enhance physical strength, helpful to Momiji and Mokou
Reimu: Secondary cleric with superior evil sealing power.

Here is my set-up:

Yugi, Meiling or Tenshi as the tank.

Marisa, Yuuka or Patchouli as the magician who nukes everything. Or maybe Keine to provide tons of lore that everybody skips through.

Cirno because we need someone to make fun of and because she is strong (for a fairy).

And Yukari, Yuuka or Eiki because we need an overpowered character who can get the whole party out of trouble due to previously mentioned fairy ruining the strategy.

Medicine constantly debuffs the entire team with poison. Patchouli dies immediately at the start of each fight. Eirin spends every round healing herself from the poison. Kaguya and Mokou spend every round alternately dying and reviving from the poison.

Mokou - immortals don't need food, medicine or tents to sleep in
Medicine - Pretty sure dolls don't need to eat or sleep, either
Alice - she doesn't strictly need to eat, so that'll help reduce upkeep costs
Tenshi - She can survive by occasionally consuming mist.

My party might not be the most effective, but it sure as hell is cost-effective.

Tenshi: frontline fighter and one of the most proactive to look for a actual adventure, in a way the one holding the group together.

Marisa: Burst damage and the one of the group that get the missions, if she hears a rumor of a tresure she will probably drag the team to it.

Kasen: The tank, will take the blows but she will live hidding her true power so in general she won't be a massive game breaker unless the situation call for it, the one "trying" to control the team but always comes along.

Reisen: the medic or range figher or even a mix, probably the one trying to avoid dangerous areas but have no spine on her own so easy to drag her along

Nazrin: thief-rogue of the team, hit-and-run tactics, the one that finds all treasure, same as Marisa, if she detects a tresure will drag the team to it, constantly fighting with Marisa.

Rinnosuke: the mule, no battle abilities but is useful to carry tresures give supplies in the middle of a battle and of course helps to identify objects and tresures.

Guest members will appear as time goes on and in certain areas.

I'm not very good with Marvel characters, but those don't really seem to add up.
Odysseus was immensely clever but hardly an inventor.
Achilles was incredibly prideful and wasn't above being a complete dickwad when it suited him.
Ajax was an incredibly and nigh-invincible warrior, but he wasn't a brute. He also killed himself when he wasn't given Achilles's armor.

I would say that there isn't really an analogue for him in Touhou. He's pretty multifaceted so it depends on what aspect you want to focus on. From an adventure standpoint ,Yukari?- almost guaranteed to come out of any dangerous situation herself, but woe betide the rest of the party.

Achilles has got to be Reimu. Conditional invincibility, mood issues, lack of mercy, favored by gods. Don't let her go on a rampage!

If you went by the ''Is fucking strong and proud" angle, Yuugi could be Ajax. Or if you wanted to play up the "Is really competent even without the divine help which everyone else seems to get", then Marisa, but she isn't exactly warlike.

When he eventually lands on Ithaka he's alone. His last crew members died when they decided that sacrificing the oxen of the sun god to the gods would be a good idea. Odysseus actually warned them to not do that.
