Would the Japanese see a title set in Victorian Europe as curiously exotic? How was the reaction to Bloodborne or Dark Souls? I know the Japanese are exposed to just as much Western influences as everyone else, but it seems to be in the same vein as Europe with Japanese; something we know the surface of but nothing deeper. What are the Japanese perceptions on knights or feudalism?

Nigga I was asking a hyper-weeaboo question about Japanese perceptions on Western culture, the video-game thing is merely the medium I was focusing on for the question.

Where else am I supposed to ask this question? /jp/ is the most Japanese-focused board on the site and boards such as /v/ focus on the video-game aspect of the question, not the perceptions.

I just want to expand my world-view and see how others perceive culture I view as "common."
