Completely re-unpacked the patch, re-ran the .bat without any problems. I restart my game and load my save thats a few clicks away from the crack. The disclaimer was still in Japanese. Thats okay. The loading bubble was also in Japanese. Thats fine too.

I get in the game. Patch installed successfully, looks like, since the text about fapping to Seira-tan is completely translated as it was before. A few clicks later, oh, guess what?

The Chapter 2 Freeze again? After I re-patched?

Also I already said that if you apply the patch over a previously installed patch here's a chance that the files cg.npa and nss.npa have been moved to a backup_npa folder. That causes the patch installation to fail. Move those files back to your main folder and run the patch again.

And if you don't want to bother doing that just take out the nss.rar from the patch archive and unpack it to your nss folder in the main game folder replacing all the other .nss files and reload from the previous chapter before you got a crash.

Another question, when i apply the patch and it gets up to moving nss.npa, it keeps poping windows trying to open the nss.npa file and asking what program to open it with. Why does it do that? I've looked into the bat file and i dont see anywhere from that point trying to open the file (unless it's from when it was trying to open it in crage.exe?)

EDIT: It seems crage.exe is failing with "utility.dll not found", even if it is in the folder. (also tried putting it into windows/system32 for fun, which of course didn't work hehe). That's probably why there is no nss.npa and cg.npa files in the game folder?

Okay, I'll go through how I did it.

1. Install the game. It'll end up in, unless otherwise specified Nitroplus\chaos;head
2. Extract the "everything.rar" file in the same folder (\chaos;head)
3. copy "UnRAR.exe" from your WinRAR folder to the chaos;head folder (if one wasn't supplied by the shitcg archive)
4a. run the .bat file, if windows tries to open a file and asks you to specify what program to use, just cancel.
4b. Answer Y to the last question of the .bat file.
5. copy the NoDVD exe that was supplied on the ISO (can do this before or after patching, doesn't matter)
6. Play the game in applocale.
7. That's it - add other files mentioned here (the patched chapter 2 and 3 files, for instance) to their specific locations, if you don't want your game to crash.

I can't see how it's possible to fail on this.

There really isn't any more to fix in terms of game crashing bugs in my .nss release. After I got back from work I double checked it again to make sure it's not just my delusion. Every non-delusion and delusion sequences work fine without crashing. B route works fine also. I wouldn't put this patch up if I wasn't sure of this. On top of that before releasing it I gave it to other people for testing purposes none of them reported anything bad about it (I even told them to check everything thoroughly). Then again if I had Message's skill of making even simple installers like that I would've made it even less troublesome.

Its a bit of a shame though. I never had any of the other problems that the others have gotten except from the errors triggered by the words in the nss files in chapter 2 etc etc but those errors were easily fixed.

Well if it doesn't work after that I guess that I am doomed to wait untill a perfectly working patch comes out since even though "everything" works "fine" it is quite annoying not being able to save and to read all 10 chapters without pause is a bit much since I have work and so on.

The savegame issues existed only in chapters 2 and 3 but they were (apparently) fixed since some people don't have this issue. You should be able to save normally from chapter 3 and onwards. If you can remove the savegames manually you're free to try and see if it fixes it but don't remember to reload from the previous chapter since that fixes a lot of issues. If you load from the same chapter the game miraculously "remembers" the previous bad .nss file instead of the fixed one.

After all manner of hilarity, I was finally able to get it working, complete with english videos and CG's.

Hooray. It now all works... after being unistalled and reinstalled and then patched somewhere in the region of 4 or 5 times in a row.

All of a sudden the length of time a certain other translation installer took to make, now seems to make a bit more sense.
