-Fall 2015 event has started and will last about 2 weeks.
-New combined fleet added for the purpose of transport operations.
-Armor debuffing is back for the Extra Operation maps.
-3 new equipment: Bf 109T kai, Fw 190T kai and the 10.5cm Twin Gun Mount.
-4 new ships: Kashima, Graf Zeppelin, Hagikaze and Arashi. The drop only ships drop on all difficulties.
-Katori class is now able to give their exp bonus outside of flagship position in PvP.

Her usual AACI setup. You can put on her any AA gun you want as long as you give her an AACI capable gun. If you don't want to bring Maya, you can bring Akiduki or Teruduki in your second fleet but in this case, Maya is better since you need the rest of your DDs in the second fleet to focus on ASW.

Also, Maya can sometimes be a great meatshield for the boss.

Anything works, really. You can put two Reppus on the CVL's two biggest slots while the other two slots can be for a torpedo bomber and Saiun. If you already equipped Saiun on one of them, put that one ASW aircraft on the other shipgirl. If you have Jun'you Kai2 or RJ Kai2, it's better.

Switch Chiyoda with Ooyodo. Ooyodo should be flagship to prevent getting hit at all and both BBs should equip red shells. For the second fleet, make sure to bring DDs with very high ASW while the CLTs have two yellow guns and Kouhyouteki.

Yes, they don't do much damage but they can at least kill the trash subs cockblocking you from the hime. Once they're done with them, Ooyodo will be able to attack and take half or all of Sub hime's HP.

They can at least help by doing 3 or 4 damage against the boss because every single damage done against the boss is important, even if its really small. Yuubari and Ooyodo CAN miss and it's really catastrophic if they missed.

Need some advice for E-3

Is two drums per ship on main fleet for medium too much? I have akitsumaru kai with a max level 601 and 2 landing craft. The rest of my ships are kai/kai ni with capped premarriage stats. Using the 1 CAV 4 DD 1 LHA + 1 CL 2 CA 3 DD set up.

I'm asking because I ended up randomly getting taiha'd on node 1 the first 3 or 4 sorties. Then the first time I hit the boss node the most damage I did during a single attack during daytime was 8. Ended up only killing two ships, and having like 10 ships at orange/red and getting C rank at the end of it.

I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or my luck is shittier than normal.

Then you put her in the main fleet for fuck's sake. When fighting installation bosses the escort fleet should be geared mainly to finishing her off in night because almost everything in day will be scratch. In fact you'll do better with a CLT instead of a BB because you get 3 daytime attacks compared to a BB's single attack, clearing escorts much more reliably. Your goal should be to clear all escorts during day, and then have 2 CAs with sanshiki rape the boss in the night.

I used this set-up and only got a preboss retreat once and never failed to sink Anchorage in 65 runs averaging less than 2 buckets per run.

Equipment is standard, main fleet has ap shells, the CVL have three green planes between them, 1 saiun and 4 blues. Maya has AACI and FCF. Ayanami has searchlight to divert the boss's fire from Haguro and Nachi is at the top to immediately sink Anchorage if she is the only thing left alive in night battle so no extra buckets are used.

It depends, really. During the route to the boss, sometimes they either take no damage or someone just goes orange with Wo Kai but that won't matter much. SOMETIMES the subs get lucky hits and manage to damage some DDs but they always put them on Chuuha instead of Taiha, in rare ocasions they get Taiha'd.

Most of the time, the only time they will ever get damaged badly or damaged at all during the whole run is on the boss. Hiyou and Maya are my biggest jobbers at the boss but REALLY good meatshields and even if they both avoid the hits, they can still do decent damage. Pic related is probably how it will look like when I reach the boss, except Ushio got unlucky with the preboss sub, Jun'you unexpectedly went to red with Wo and Haruna/Hiyou were lucky hits from Ta class too.

It's all up to luck, anyways.

Not exactly my favorite, but Summer 2014 had the biggest impact on me.

It was my second event and it took me over 150 sorties to get the last kill on the final map. I ran out of resources at one point, had to build them up for a couple days, ran out again, and built them back up before it was all over.

To me, nothing seems as bad as that event, and I think it really taught me that sometimes you're just going to have some shitty luck with this game. I've had 100+ farming runs since that were pretty bad, but I've got through them by reminding myself I got through that event.

Only when endlessly farming. People say KanColle is an unenjoyable RNG clusterfuck that plays itself, but I normally don't agree. I like the aspects of min/maxing my fleet by making constant adjustments and improvements and seeing how each change brings slightly improved outcomes. I like seeing my girls perform well enough to overcome a clearly defined enemy. None of that shit is present in farming. Past a certain point you have the perfect fleet and you're doing nothing but babysitting your resources getting flushed down the toilet. I'd rather do LSC than sit here for 50+ completely unremarkable runs in a row. The only enemy here is the autism that compels me to torture myself for a trophy ship.

Every EO since the system's induction has had nothing but trophy ships. The very first one was Sakawa, who is widely considered one of the worst event rewards ever. That's not a problem with this event, and neither is worse players than you being able to clear it.

Not at all. Most farming maps don't have Black Wock Shooter and BB hime. They aren't all combined fleet either. Even last event had easy farming on E-4 and E-5, with relatively high drop rates.
