The city builder aspect comes from New Leaf. I loved the mayor stuff you could do, like placing decorative and functional buildings. I just wish you had more control like being able to place roads and designate where villagers can live. But I plan to make it more than a money sink but instead a source of income.

I want players to be able to build villages ranging from comfy, rural farming villages to busy, semi-urban towns. And there would also be themes which attract certain 2hus to your village.

You can start anywhere you want, if you want to make a game I would say C++, C# or Java are for the best, but be sure to learn all the basics before even trying to start making games, it will avoid a lot of headaches to you.
