Kigurumi (着ぐるみ) is a kind of costuming where the player wears a full body skin suit (called hadatai) along with an anime mask. The Japanese word "kigurumi" refers to any kind of full-body costume, but in this thread we're specifically looking for anime masks combined with skin-toned bodysuits - properly known as "animegao" kigurumi.

Being humungous makes kigging as most characters really bad (size matters, after all).

If being humungous is a problem, then why not kig as a tall girl? There are quite a few of them (not to mention some being either super cute/super sexy/both). Just invest in a good hadatai and padding (not to mention the mask and proper outfit/accessories) and you're good to go.

I did notice something, actually. Cici's made some pretty good masks, so it's clear that there's no lack of skill with his design work. But all the best ones are for himself, his company, or connections, while most clients get with ones like that blonde Strike Witches character.

Thought it was favoritism at first, but he recently made a Aoi Exorcist mask for someone from Brazil who I don't think has any connections to him. So I think the trick to getting a custom from Cici is that you have to be very specific and make it clear what you want with the design.

being a tall kig does not create a wrong image. being tall and kigging as a small character creates a wrong image.

sure you can kig as a schoolgirl while youre 6ft. but if you want it to look correct you can only do it around tall people, big objects, or against plain backgrounds.

going out and posing as the cute little schoolgirl together with normal people for a photo will of course in 80% of the cases look wrong and unproportioned.

of course kigurumi is a fantasy wonderland, but every good good has also a sense for practical effects. how will you look in this outfit, in this environment, together with those people, to the sound of this music, at this time of the day.

tall kigs are not prohibited from doing kig. they just need to blend in. you can choose to display a more adult character, a more tall one, being slim also lets you appear smaller/more dainty. as a tall person you can avoid low cameraangles, choose a tall photographer, set your tripod higher, avoid wearing heels. non-puffy or tight clothes will make you appear more slim, hence you may appear smaller.

natsuki is a real good example. hes taller than other japanese kigs, yet he makes it look easy and we all adore him as one of the best. still its no magic, its being clever and working with what you got.

I used to use underbust but they make me look like a tube of toothpaste that someone squeezed too hard around the middle and also it hurt like shit. Overbust distributes the compression over a wider area so it creates a more fluid curve (rather than a pinch at the waist) and doesn't hurt as much.
