Now that Perfect Dark and Share are pretty much dead what do the Japanese use for piracy? Or do they just not pirate anymore?

There is a new P2P program called Amoeba but it's not very popular, mainly because it uses tor which is overkill and requires 60GB of cache. Other than that, they use DDL sites, but the days when there was a huge archive of well seeded files old and new (aka Share) are gone.

Theres really no point in using those anymore. Pretty much everything download worthy gets uploaded on sites like anime-sharing.com etc

How do you know PD's dead?

It's dying in terms of new, original uploads and number of nodes is getting lower too.

I noticed nodes decreasing as well, but maybe the decrease in uploads is just a hiccup? Eh?
Or is Japan actually getting success in mitigating piracy?

As long as we have people from 3rd world there, they won't have success

It seems to me that those public execution type paradings of people who got caught, worked in a shame based society.

But I could be wrong in my analysis.

Just because a bunch of files aren't seeded/disappeared doesn't make Share dead.

Yeah, I used it to find fuuzoku/amateur videos, but the number of new files is going down. I looked into it a few weeks back, and now most Japanese people are uploading their stuff to Chinese streaming sites. The days of easily being able to archive files is gone. Pay webcam shows of sex is pretty popular now, due to their ability to bypass censorship laws, meaning people recording the cam streams usually don't share. I had one Japanese friend I share stuff with, but he got a girlfriend and I haven't heard from him lately. Sucks.

It's actually getting harder to find good content.

these things are getting criminalized more and more in Japan, the domestic scene will only shrink.
