The music from the first game is partly bad composed, don't judge the whole series by it (I only like the Final Boss and Extra Boss theme)...
But come on, from the second game up the music gets really catchy, there is some very inspired songs.

Personally I like the Len'en games. Not quite as much as Touhou, but they're still pretty fun.

You must realize though, 90% of the Touhou "fans" here are secondaries that don't even play the actual games or, at best, struggle to 1cc Imperishable Night on Easy, so I doubt you're going to win them over by telling them to play similar-but-much-harder games with unfamiliar lolis.

I just can't enjoy LoLK in terms of gameplay. It has too many design flaws that ruined the game for me. Character and Music is completely fine, but I cannot enjoy it as a game really. This is why I prefer Len'en after the first game, as it suffers the exact same problem.

len'en actually does have better music (more "different" than better though) and waaaay better patterns, and i like touhou a lot

regarding the genderless characters, they're not actually genderless, what's actually happening is:

1. jynx is going the transgender route and clearly wants their characters to be the same
2. jynx claimed that the characters are essentially forces of nature

problem is that all the characters are traditional girls instead of weird creatures, so it really boils down to point 1

it should be noted that there is reference to "a man" in zuifeng's profile and afaik said man is the rme stage 5 boss (who is based on a male historical figure ofc)
