nope, noone wanted to take a look in my bags.
i know i took a risk. if it would have been checked, it would not be far fetched to say you would have read about it.
for all i know it's a gray area. the last related case i know of around here was about Love Hina. he got off the hook, but i would be in a far worse position.

i don't have a scanner, and don't want to ruin anything. if anyone wants something scanned i would need a lot of convincing.

- there are no trashcans out in the city, so don't generate much trash
- if you frequently say 'oj' when startled, focus on avoiding this phrase. almost walking into someone and outing 'oi!' might seem inappopriate. from personal experience.

There are only a few people who scan and share a lot of stuff, but they can only do so much.
Meanwhile the rest just sits on this stuff for years; they probably throw away most of the books after a few years away, or keep them in the basement where they gather dust.

You can scan them without damaging the books. The scans won't look great, but it's better than nothing.

I seriously don't get why you people are so afraid of "damaging" it.
It's like, if I have a book it means absolutely nothing to anyone; I may as well not have it and it would make no difference, no one would care less.
I mean, what am I gonna do with it? Fap to it a thousand times? Keep it on a shelf and look at it everyday?
But if I scan a book that hasn't been scanned before, not only it makes posssibly hundreds of thousands of people happy, but it "immortalizes" the work to make sure it doesn't just disappear from the history.

Anyway, most of the stuff you have, I would guess is gonna get scanned at some point in time sooner or later.
So you don't have to worry about "destroying" your own copies, but if after a few years there still isn't a scan available for them, and you get tired of looking at them, you might consider actually scanning them yourself.

As for scanning the books, I'm painfully well aware of the issue that the 'spine' presents.
While what >>14007054 is saying about scanning them without damaging them is true, I wouldn't recommend for somebody that has never scanned anything before try to do this.
You'll (most likely) run into a lot of problems that you weren't expecting... scanning has a weird learning process. Do not attempt, unless you're prepared to destroy the book that you're going to scan.

As for taking photos... you should be able to get away with doing this fairly easily. Just have a small weight on the page that you're taking a picture of while holding the other half of the book and... well, yeah. About the same risk of damage as reading it normally.
