NHN Japan is an entirely unique company that was created by Japanese overseas in South Korea until they were done with their studies and stopped giving a shit about Korea.

As for what's it used for...primarily and unironically, a lot of mobages actually use LINE as group chat + have integrated functions such as Cooperative and Competitive hosting between LINE users.

UNLESS you actually play mobages or have friends in Japan it is usually just as pointless as using something like Steam, only if you dare to and have anyone to care about in there.
