85. It's the morning shift. You could almost believe that the room is in an hospital, as it's certainly clean enough, and the workers are dressed in a way not unlike hospital workers. The conveyor belt speaks otherwise though, and indeed the purpose of this place is quite different. A box of yukkuris has been brought in from the breeding unit, and the workers are busy affixing each yukkuri in a small stainless steel frame or cage, just large enough for the adult yukkuris to be squeezed into. Metal prongs extending inwards ensure that the mouths of the thus immobilized yukkuris are kept wide open, and at the back there are mounting points, with which they are then fixed to the conveyor belt.

Every now and then, the conveyor belt moves, sending a few yukkuris through a heavy, automated door, decorated with a big radiation warning sign. The yukkuris go through a double airlock, and into the main hall of the facility. The air is filled with the hum of machinery, frantic gurgling sounds, and screams of "Yu!" in every nuance from utter terror to deepest despair. Long shelves run along the hall, filled with stations consisting of a metal bar extending out over a large funnel, with a mounting claw to hold a yukkuri cage at it's end turned upwards. A pipe extends downwards towards this, with an propeller-like impeller at the end. Placed above, able to overlook a half-dozen stations each, are slightly larger cages, allowing for some very limited movement. In these we have "companion yukkuris", to keep those stuck in the frames below from being lonely. These are responsible for the cries of "Yu!", as those in the frames cannot make much noise, their mouths permanently stuck at wide open. Robot arms with big, steel syringes stab into these yukkuris every now and then, injecting a mixture of ground up yukkuris or syrup and water to keep them from dying from thirst or hunger.

The good they can do?

They can feed people. By killing them.

Oh hey.

>> No.1390441

>>1390438
Automated machinery, box-like robots with a single arm on top driving around on predetermined paths pick up our fresh yukkuris and drive them to the stations where they'll be used. Other robots drive around and remove old, dead or dying yukkuris, making space for the new ones. After a fresh yukkuri has been placed in a station, the pipe from above is lowered into their mouths, and the impeller starts spinning. The pain is most likely quite horrendous, as the blades constantly shred and mix the inside of the yukkuri, but with the mouth thus blocked, the muffled,, gurgling nosies, the tears, and how it's eyes pop wide open, bloodshot, and frantically shaking, are all the clues we will get to it's mental state. Then through the pipe a mixture is slowly injected, made up from corn syrup, ground-up yukkuris, water, and liquefied or powdered nuclear waste. As the impeller spreads this through the yukkuri, the sweets nourish it, the water keeps it from dehydration, and the waste is there for the yukkuris metabolism to process into harmless bean paste. Excess bean paste spills from the yukkuris mouth, into the funnel, from which it is pumped into a new yukkuri, over and over again, until geiger counters shows that all the radioactive materials have been destroyed, at which point it will be used as yukkuri food, either in the main hall, or in the breeding unit.

>> No.1390444

>>1390428
I love this artist

>> No.1390445

>>1390441
All of this also means that in addition to the impeller, the yukkuris will have to suffer through radiation poisoning as well, and perhaps normal poisoning too. After 24 hours most are too weak to process any more, the radiation levels in the overflow increase, and a robot comes to remove it, to be replaced by another one. These dead yukkuris will themselves be radioactive waste (though they will have processed far more before they expired), so they are taken to another machine, which removes the metal frame, and dumps the yukkuri into grinder, so that the remains of it can be sent back into the system. The cage is then sent into another room, where another automated machine cleans it extremely carefully, so that it can be re-used. Every now and then, a companion yukkuri will also succumb to mental collapse and the radiation, so these are removed and replaced in much the same manner as well.

Answered your own question right there.

canon speaks nothing of the personalities of the humans doing the torturing. That is left entirely up to the writer. Which is why you have kind anons, cruel anons, and completely indifferent anons.

canon DOES speak of a yukkuri's own ridiculous selfishness. The only thing they care about is themselves and taking it easy. They seem to care about their children and other family members as well, but I got into an argument a while ago that they only care for others in a selfish way. Some japanese reading anon mentioned that in the original stories they have monologues saying that they do indeed love their children in a pure way. Still haven't seen any goddamn translations...
Everything negative that has been said about yukkuri is true. If you had followed these threads for more than 10 minutes you'd realize that. They have no respect for anything other then themselves [and family]. They will rape if they get horny. Alices won't even wait for that. They will eat their children to save themselves. They will kill other yukkuri for food (either to steal food or to eat them). We're not the ones making this up, the japanese authors are.

I hate you /jp/, for introducing me to something which I wish to torment in every possible way, yet I can't as they don't exist.

There's nothing else to take it out on, either.

Also, the bottom panel of this should've been rephrased. Translator did a very literal translation that doesn't flow well in English

There are a little over 40 images by this artist, and at least half are part of this series. The translator just grabbed random ones, for whatever reason.

Again, is this artist called anything?

They call themselves Reimyu, not Weimu.

Weren't people planning on making an information page with standards on how to slur ko-s speech, SFX, etc?

The point was to set up a page so that both translators and editors know what the speech is supposed to be like.
