I doubt King Arthur would last 5 seconds against saber.
Gilgamesh, maybe, he could battle half gods and stuff I don't think he'd have enough swords, though.

Goddamn it Japan, why did you have to make goddamned Gilgamesh into a bishie. Anyone else is ok, but GILGAMESH?? He's clean shaven for fucks sake.

Alexander didn't have a beard, setting the fashion for Greeks and Romans for the next few centuries. I highly doubt he was that big and as quite the joker.

Also why the hell is noble phantasm some obscure reference to some chariot he just cut the reins of her instead of his horse Bucephalus I'll never know.

Bucephalus is a fucking heroic spirit on his own.

As for Noble Phantasms, the same reason Medusa is a rider, riding the beast that came out of her when her head was cut off.

They did.
Persians had chariots with Razor Blades on the side.
Or course, that bit them on the ass, when the Greeks went CLANG CLANG with their shields, horses got scared shitless and then they rushed back to the Persian Infantry.
Not a pretty site.

The Assyrians employed chariots as heavy assault weapons against infantry lines 400 years and more before Alexander the Great was even born.

Yes, I know that.
I just said an interesting tidbit from the chronicles from Alexander's battles.

Spoilers: if it says true story it probably is not true.
Chariots were more or less outdated by Alexander's time however. They completely suck compared to proper cavalry.

It's a reference to the Gordian knot, which was said to destine the person whio untied it to lordship over all of Near Asia. Alexander's solution was to cut it with his sword. Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordian_knot

Greek Tactics.
Hit the shields with their PONOS to scare the enemy.
And if they lost their sword or lance, they could just grab it and keep fighting.
