Are you a tea otaku, /jp?
It is such a nice feeling, brewing some good green tea in the morning.

>> No.13890548

Tea takes too much work for something that tastes like grass if you managed to not make it a bitter mess.

I used to drink tea, I still miss the flavor.
But I decided caffeine is a drug I do not desire to use. I don't desire to use any drug in the world.

/jp/, I don't understand how I'm supposed to stop over steeping my tea.
They say the best results come from 2 minutes of steeping, but I brew a whole pot and cannot pour it all at that point.

That's the plebeian way, though. You can "brew" your green tea with ice. Take some green tea leafs, put them in a jar (preferably cast-iron, pottery is also ok) put ice cubes over them and let them melt.

I usually brew a whole kettle of tea and let that steep for forever. Strong tea masterrace.
People who add sugar, honey or milk to their tea need to be fucking gassed.
What's your favourite green tea, /jp/?
For waking up or something I really like Gunpowder. If I want to calm down and go to Gensokyo I use Jasmine.

Yes, that's for sencha. Sencha is short steeps, otherwise you get a bitter drank. But Chinese teas work very well with long steeps.

not necessarily. tea is pretty varied, thankfully.
I dont care for particularly astringent greens, so the more mellow ones or roasted ones are interesting to me. genmaicha's a fun one too, because of the roasted rice. there's different ways of oxidizing, but steamed, roasted, pan seared, smoked, etc is all fun to try
