Everyone goes to DS for their event albums/games now. Which isn't surprising, the event threads here usually get shitposted to death and it's pretty tiring seeing the exact same shitposting crap year after year.

Forest306 is releasing a new album, and even though there's no crossfade up yet I'm looking forward to it. Foxtail-Grass Studio is making an original album and it sounds lovely, as expected from ハム. I hope I'll have enough money to buy their albums on Toranoana if they're but on there.

If I buy doujinshi, and I bring them back to the states, would I be hit by Child Pornography laws if I go through customs?

The doujinshi have 18+ on the cover, but apparently US law, child pornography is anything that depicts sexual (or even sexually suggestive) activity of anyone that can be inferred to be a minor.

Long lines, getting stuck in between a sea of people at congested spots of the halls, and getting disappointed as a lot of the circles you care about may sell out before you have a chance to even get to them.

Drink plenty of water because the heat will be terrible. Bring a very small folding chair if you can (small enough to fit in a backpack or something when folded), and wear some sunblock or you'll get burned.

If you don't plan on getting there early then you probably won't spend much time outside. If you do get there early then you'll basically be at the ass end of the line if you get there anytime past about 8 am.

Yes, each day has several categories ("genres") of circles that people are grouped in, and all the circles in those genres are there for that one day only. Circles in any genre are going to be located in the same hall and block, and there's also some minor organization based on content/characters.

Also, you will need some sort of decent map to not get totally overwhelmed. You can print your own, but the information you get in the catalog is pretty much necessary if you aren't familiar with Comiket. Just beware that it's heavy.

Comiket is the most paradoxically hype thing in the world.

Think about it. Comiket can be accurately described as an grotesquely overcrowded bookstore that almost exclusively sells fanfiction. From an objective perspective, it ought to be a place that no sane person would ever want to visit.

Yet it's so amazing that people go again and again. I've gone twice and I'm going again in winter. As long as you're at least somewhat interested in anime or otaku culture, the experience is flat out indescribably awesome.

It's something that every /jp/sie should strive to experience at least once in their lives. Seriously. Save your pennies. Get a mcjob if you have to. Do whatever you need to do, but GO TO COMIKET AT LEAST ONCE. It is so worth it.
