Because in the older demo you don't have to collect anything, the bonus applies automatically. Having heart pieces instead means that you have to position yourself before finishing a spellcard to collect it succefully or you have to go up the POC before the next patterns starts. Either way you have to bequick because LoLK has really dense patterns.

SA had a similar 1up piece system where the bosses dropped one heart piece if you captured the attack or spellcard without dying. Wasn't really that hard there, so I don't think it'll be hard in LoLK.
Also, after beating the attack or spellcard, all bullets on screen change into points for you, meaning you'll get some time to fly up, get the piece, thanks to PoC and fly down to safety.

It's the leader of the Lunar capital, Lord Tsukuyomi, with a dragon aura. If it isn't Tsukuyomi himself/herself, then it would be a stand-in for the character, same way Miko "is" Prince Shotoku or how Eirin "is" Omoikane.

Watatsuki sisters will be the stage 4 bosses, fighting whoever you focus your danmaku on. (Or the two of them at once)

Extra stage boss would be Mima, a return to the dream world where she is lurking, with Doremy reappearing in the dream as a midboss to spite you. I can feel it in my bones.
