Too bad it's slowed down recently due to lack of new content vs almost everything up to now being translated.

Because >>13780531 (ie. it's the only show 95% of the anons and random fans of owarai know). When considered the entertainment value on week to week basis, it's actually pretty low (mostly because of their new projects lately have been so boring and they end up doing the recycling same projects if they had even slight success) when compared to simple talk variety shows like Matsuko & Ariyoshi no Ikari Shintou.

Personally, I wish they would bring back Free Talks. There aren't many famous kombi who still do that sort of lazy manzai (the only one I'm following is Summers x Summers) which is really a shame. The best ドヤ顔 in all history is still Matsumoto's face at the end of his "curry should be spicy" argument.

Wide shows and VTR shows. Those two I posted shows are often quite interesting on top of being funny, that's pretty much what I'm looking for. Also, I like that those shows aren't over reliant on gags to work.

I actually don't watch those kind of shows since they usually end up being so boring. Former mostly because the VTRs aren't that interesting and they don't involve the people at studio at all (usually they just mute studio audio and have a tiny wipe), latter because the average people aren't as funny as Matsumoto and Higashino.

That being said, I've really enjoyed Matsuko x Matsuko lately. The subject of placing a fat android among people in all sorts of situtations is really interesting and Matsuko's comments are great as always. I laughed my ass off when (s)he and the voice of studio Matsuroid (Hori) went full Gundam otaku in one of the ending talks.

おーい!ひろいき村 is also a good, but I'm afraid it's on the verge of canceling. The studio segments with an announcer and hinadan aren't great, but the spartan tasks the small crews of comedians have to go through (like making their own wine with barrels and glasses; everything from the ground up) are human drama at its best.

>> No.13825362

>>13825057

I quite like both of those. Suiyoubi gets a bit silly at times, but there's usually some funny shit, and I like a good portion of the presenters.

Wide na show can be boring, specially when it focuses to much on sports or celebrity bullshit. But there's always at least one funny/interesting person in the panel, or at least someone who plays off Matsumoto/Higashino well.

I like those two shows too, just don't like that sort of shows in general. They just tend to be so slow in pacing when they have the narrator, people at scene AND people at studio reacting over the same things, which gets even worse when things aren't entertaining.
Another reason why I don't like VTR shows is the size of the cast; they often have so many people (idols, okama, random halfs, veteran actors, etc.) who are usually there just for the ratings.

Suiyobi is pretty good in those aspect; the projects are funny (especially the recent "combined food fight sports"), the pace is pretty fast, the narration is witty, they show full reactions from studio and Matsumoto keeps the humor going with guests both before and after the VTRs.

>> No.13825507

Ah, I see. So it's another case of Matsumoto/Downtown taking something shit and making it brilliant. I guess I'll look for old episodes of suiyoubi, then.

This is going to be pretty much comletely a repost for those who remember the last Gaki thread, but he first dyed it to silver to hide grey hair (before that he dyed it constantly black) and dyed it gold after about a week when he ended up not liking the silver.

Hard to say, They have a lot of good ones. Kiki, Matsumoto Challenges, Cosplay Bus tour etc. Personally the Shoji murakami series kill me.

Sometimes I wonder if it's all an act or if Hamada is seriously that angry of a guy.

Is that fully subbed somewhere? I have the first 19 min's subbed but if it is, I'll just sub something else

I'm not sure how I feel about Matsumoto's new hairstyle. He looks like a butch lesbian now that he's pretty muscular too.

Anywhere. Their no laughing series is what I started with but each one lasts a few hours.

Kiki and Absolute Tasty (Zettai Oishii) are the usual recommendations because "reacting to food" is pretty damn universal.
Also, Free Talks since they are short yet funny.

If you like Game Center CX, Downtown did an episode with Yoiko where they did random stuff and it's pretty funny.

I don't if you're browsing http://gaki-no-tsukai.com/index.php or not, but if you find looking for all the various episodes from different threads a pain in the ass, I recommend http://crazyontv.com/ .
Some of their links are dead by now, but otherwise it's really handy for dedicating your time on watching instead of searching.
