Depends on when (and where, DMM is not the only store) it was released or purchased, it might still have used the old DRM. If it was DMM/r18, then the when is quite clearly after the new DRM was introduced, the movie released a few days ago, the new DRM started June 30. Moodyz page links directly to r18/DMM and to my knowledge, there's no BluRay for that release. Everything points to somebody having broken it, but yes, apparently that person isn't willing to share, even though he doesn't profit from the uploads.

Looking online, BluRay releases aren't all that common. Looking at common labels like ABP or MIDE (series of Prestige and Moodyz, respectively), I hardly see any BluRays. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but I just think it's not that popular of a distribution method.

Yeah, I don't know if that was released on BluRay. Apparently, people aren't interested unless it's an h264 encode in an mkv container, even original wmv gets booed by plenty, even though that's the best thing you can get aside from a BluRay image. But most people find it bothersome to do their own encodes, so you rarely find a BluRay .iso online, due to filesize as well. Occasionally I did though, which I was quite happy about.

And those that buy BluRays in many cases don't even know how to encode something or how to circumvent copy protection I'd wager, or maybe just don't have an interest in sharing them. I'm disappointed too, but the percentage of people it would come down to is just too small. You have to count out every JAV that isn't released on BluRay, minus people who can't circumvent copy protection, minus people who don't know how to encode, minus people who are too poor etc. etc.

In the end, I'm no expert. Denuvo certainly poses a problem currently to find an elegant solution around it. However, vidya scene groups seem to have gotten complacent these last years too. 3DM has spearheaded nearly every release, and they're a Chinese group that mostly employs custom launchers to circumvent DRM. Reloaded and FLT show up every now and then, but that's almost it. You're right of course, that encryption isn't the same it was back then. But I doubt we're getting close to a point where encryption can't be dealt with.
