I don't know how they will do this.
The remake has the same voice actress than the PSP version meaning:

They certainly don't do ero

There is only 3 ero scenes in Himawari, first one happen 3 routes in, seriously.
They are very short too and one only happen in a bad end.
Best thing about them is the banter before/after in Aqua/Asuka's case which is preserved in the all ages version anyways.

Himawari doesn't need to be ero but it does tackle some pretty heavy stuff and the all ages version censored some pretty important things, I don't know if they will fix that or not in the ero version of the game

>DSP#2 is AliveZ, an AliceSoft visual novel without gameplay from the mid 2000s. And though we've reached ~94% TL at the time of this writing, out of respect for MangaGamer's new deal we will be halting our work on AliveZ and switching to DSP#3 (A non-AliceSoft title). It's a decision tinged with joy and sorrow, official AliceSoft releases have been desired for quite some time, and even if our work is shuttered we're excited for those who have made this deal happen and hope to see it succeed.
>
>To that end, Denwatls would like to offer its work to MangaGamer for free, after the translation had been completed and edited at least once of course, or will resume work on the project should AliceSoft pull out of the West. No, if you really love the game you want the parent company to profit off it and for it to sell well so they can make more things like it.

>Licensing is a kiss of death for any decent western release and for the fantranslation community as a whole.
Licensing is the only way we'll ever see select titles from devs, if fans don't want to work on a game they won't. Nevermind all the technical problems that an official release has a lot of an easier time dealing with. Look at things like KimiNozo that hasn't even been translated and we'll probably only see due to age moving into the western market. There are also tons of projects in the OP that are worthless machine translations and things that are completely dropped at 70%+ or worse and never seen again. At least with official releases you'll eventually see the projects that get "taken" because it's in the best interests of the localization company and the parent company.

People are just pissed they can't play new Rance translations anytime soon. Most people don't give a shit as long as the translation happens as quick as possible, official or not. They want to play the games they want to play. If they can't, they get mad. It's quite simple. In the case of Kiminozo, everybody was mad at Ixrec because it looked like he ruined its chances of getting translated and they wanted to play it. People will get mad at whoever stands in the way of them playing the game they want, if that means getting pissed at fantranslators they'll do that, or the other way around.

>> No.13737618

>>13737589
There's a difference in those cases, Ixrec could have completely destroyed relations instead of just stalling them like he has and there was no fantranslator who wanted to work on KimiNozo. In this case as long as Haruka sells a reasonable amount which I'm sure it will Alicesoft will want to release the fantranslated versions of the Rance games that MG have been given because to use the existing translations is vastly more cheaper and easy to make some quick money off and if the Alicesoft relations fall flat and nothing more comes from them the translations will be released as fan-translations anyway most likely.

The people who are seriously pissed about this are just impatient people, most likely the same as those who don't give a damn about translation quality and want immediate satisfaction or just don't want to "have" to buy things and don't give a damn about the industry.

I won't believe it until I see the release, as much as I wish I didn't have to be so skeptical. I can only hope they improve like MG did, but I'm not holding my breath.

Seems like a good investment if that can actually net them licenses in the future, considering how hesitant some Japanese companies are to work with overseas licensers. But a no-strings-attached loan seems like a roundabout way to go about it.

Yeah, that's his plan for getting SP's hands on Scarlett. Here's hoping he gets an actual trustworthy translator on it, but looking at Clannad that's doubtful.

I feel he is misrepresenting the industry when he says it's dying. Eroge/VNs in general are a more niche market with less capacity to attract new consumers compared to regular computer games. The benefits would have to be that due to the general lack of 3d models and the relatively simple programming that goes into these games compared regular computer games, the development costs don't spiral out of control in the same way it has for computer games. The barrier to entry into the market is also kept relatively low for these same reasons and you see a lot of splinter companies and amateur work within the scene. Basically all this means is that it's pretty easy for the market to become over-saturated and inevitably some of the studios won't be able to turn a profit. Still it's very easy for new studios to spring up if there is ever more money to be had in the eroge market. If the industry were really in decline due to lack of interest towards new releases, it's hardly something SP could fix.

"Eroge" includes mobage, rpgmaker stuff and so on, which is thriving. Only PC VN 18+ games are "dying", and only because developers are very adamant at not acknowledging errors of their ways and repeating same shit over and over.

Looks Like Rattan Man's been busy. He's already at 20% for his secret project. Given his previous statements, it's likely a Black Lilith game.

Has anyone played his fantranslation of Taimanin Murasaki? If so, how was it? Will MG hire this guy, or C&D him?

Also, I think they sent C&D to Apoptosis for Cartagra/KnS2 before whole licensing deal.

Cross Channel is an entirely different story without the sex scenes.
The sex scene and sorta sex scene in MLA is highly plot relevant.
The sex scenes in Forest are important.
The sex scenes in Moon. are extremely relevant to the story (the whole psychosexual nature matters)
The sex scenes in Kanon Ayu's route also matter.

There's actually a lot that matter/are important. So I'd disagree.

One of the main points that separates Eroge from other Japanese stories is that the relationships are "non-trivial". I.E. Because its made very clear that the characters are in a sexual relationship, they can't do the Japanese cop out of lolmisunderstandings.

Even if the scenes can be skipped, the way that they are shown lets you know that you're getting a real conclusion of some kind and they aren't just teasing romance options.

Correct.

>Also, I think they sent C&D to Apoptosis for Cartagra/KnS2 before whole licensing deal.
Incorrect. Gungnir, the parent company of Innocent Grey, sent the team of Cartagra and Kara no Shoujo (#1), for both of which Apoptosis was the translator, a C&D while they were still on TLWiki. This led to the team trying to get an official release through MangaGamer.

Did that happen, or was it MangaGamer's own work?
