The bottom of the swimsuit runs horizontally across the thigh which doesn't really accentuate it at all and does a good job of ruining the natural curve. Competition swimsuits with high cuts do a much better job of showing off toned thighs than the standard school version. Yet I still like the school version better.

Some of these aren't bad, but that saber earlier had way too much eyeshadow. If they toned it down a lot, it'd be an interesting look for her.

I think the far right on the bottom image would work really well for a dominant lewd loli, and this one >>13665905 would make a really cute hime/ojousama.

They clearly have skill with painting, since everything is smooth and even, so I don't understand the stylistic choice to have eyelids/eyeshadow that huge and heavy. It just looks odd.

I went to Johannes Fest over the weekend here and found a vendor that sells miniature guitars. I thought it looked about right so I bought one and took it home.

What do ya'll think? too big? Too small? It's 1/4th so it's supposed to be the size of the Minis but it's definitely too small for my SD16s. Apparently they have a online shop too that ships internationally. They even have drum sets.

Candy does look great. And you can trust Volks' stock photos. They're generally very accurate. Also, Volks will have their dolls on display at Dollpa months before their released, so you can see pictures of the dolls in-person. Just check doll.fm regularly for blogs that have pics of dollpa.

The only issue with Volks' stock photos that I noticed was with some older dolls, where the photography of Volks' employees made eyes look brighter than they were. Just keep in mind most promo pics are being taken in a light box with a professional setup.

For your first try, it's really not bad at all. Practice practice practice! The eyebrows should be done with pastels, and then fine lines (hairs) should be made with very fine, very thinned acrylic paint.

The eye "lashes" aren't even, but way better than most first-timers. Watch youtube tutorials, look at a lot of pictures of custom DD's, and you'll get there.

Keep going for it anon, you clearly aren't hopeless and will be able to make beautiful dolls with practice. For a first time, you did MUCH better than most.

I was under the impression the doll was being given a post-surgery cuddle to calm her down and take the pain away. Yes, their prices are in USD (if you're using the English site). I recommend sticking to the Art/Unique wigs if you're considering a purchase. There's been some QC issues with their other wigs (too big, too small, not styled as pictures), but I've never once had an issue with the art/unique wigs.

You should take some time and brush her hair a little. It's all over the place. I personally use a tiny comb and pull through gently starting from the bottom and working my way up. I hear soft brushes are good too but I don't own any.

A wig cap is typically a solid investment and you'd probably also like to invest in body stockings to protect her body from staining. Barring a body stocking or for staining that might happen anyways, get a hold of a tube of acne cream with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide (or more if you can even find that). A small paint brush with big poofy bristles is good for dusting and getting in hard to reach areas too. Maybe other doll owners will have other suggestions for necessities.

Go buy a baby toothbrush, just make sure it says "SOFT" on the package. That will be Miku's brush. Brush her hair, since there are lots of flyaways. You can make your own wig spray with a drop of fabric softener in a spray bottle filled with water.

You should get a wig cap to prevent staining, and also to keep the wig in place. My preference is for silicon wig caps because they really keep the wig from sliding. Since Miku has semi white skin and a pretty colorful wig, I'd recommend a cloth wig cap on top of a silicon wig cap for extra stain protection.

Oh yeah, that was her wig nearly straight out of the package. I have two Real Action Heroes on order.

I want to buy some extra clothes for them because I'm a suck. Their manufacturer doesn't make a clothes line for them and I've read the FAQ.

My question is: since they're about 1/6, really will just about any 1/6 doll clothes fit them? Right now I'm looking at Azone ones like:

It says 1/6 scale but no clue what all the more detailed S, M, L sizing stuff is all about within the scale.

I'm getting Sinon and Rin.

I've seen pics on how you have to unscrew the chin-piece each time and how you might have to just remove the arms to get clothing on/off. I'm not too worried about hamhanding them and won't be changing their clothes too often.

Also the bangs of the wigs aren't cut properly. When cutting hair (that means wigs too), you need to hold the scissors nearly vertical to get that whispy anime-hair look.
