Good, it's a pretty solid game in my opinion. Fair warning, it is very long. Luckily it keeps you entertained enough so that it doesn't ever feel like a chore and you just want to keep playing.

Don't expect much outside the art and H scenes though, the gameplay is very mediocre. The rpg factor is very weak, like imagine playing a game with only one dungeon, the dungeon only has one path so there's really nothing to explore, just keep moving forward without stopping or going back, all your equipment as you get stronger is pretty much already decided for you along with what level you'll be at what point of the game, and the game is set on super easy mode. The rpg factor just a decoration, you should just think of it as a high quality nukige disguised as a jrpg.

And this is just my personal opinion but the story isn't anything great either. I'm really bothered by stories that depicts an absolute good with an absolute evil. But hey, i guess you can't write a hero story where the MC can just go around killing the bad guys without question if those bad guys aren't depicted as an absolute evil, am I right?

I agree the story isn't outstanding, but the characters are great and it doesn't take itself seriously which helps make it a pretty funny game.
The facial expressions are also funny.

That sounds like great fun to me, honestly. After years of playing "serious" or "hard-core" RPGs, I've grown sick of them and I just like to stroll through them. Although recently my thirst for them has returned, so I've been playing 7th Dragon 2020 lately on Casual mode. Even on casual mode boss fights can be hard and you can't cruise through the game.

Did you not pay attention to the latter half of the game? The executives aren't absolute evil, they are depicted as selfish with the sole exception of Felton who is arguably more "correct" than Aster and crew. Said Executives did plenty of "good" things while carrying out their selfish desires, to call them absolute evil means you stopped reading the plot in the last chapter or weren't paying attention at all.

It's Order versus Chaos, pay more attention next time.

Even from very early game I actually felt bad for these guys, instead of having any effort made to straighten these people out or make up for their crime, they get a curse placed on them no questions asked, literally forcing them into turing into bad guys that have no choice to rob from others, and at the same time are no longer even treated as a human anymore. Even their description when you fight them say former human. All so people can see them as an evil being that you can kill without any qualms, and since they aren't considered human anymore, no one has to feel bad for them.

Not sure why you are complaining when this problem gets actually addressed by the characters in the game itself. I can understand hating on such a setting when it's taken from granted, never explained nor explored, but this wasn't the case.

Well yeah. That's one of the main villain's points - that the commandments are complete shit that are holding humanity back.

Evenicle's plot isn't brilliant and every single twist is predictable the only one that surprised me was when Ophelia started eating her father. The Black and White Knight's identities were pretty easy to predict and I figured them out in chapter 5.
The fact that Aster is part dragon wasn't something I guess but Alicesoft didn't even try to hide the fact that his sisters were involved with QD

Thematically it's pretty will written.

It's fairly easy but it's a nice relaxing game with fun character interactions.

Finished Senshinkan (八命陣)
I guess I was expecting too much from it because it really disappointed me.

The heroines were absolutely awful and uninteresting. No personality at all (except maybe 世良).

Some parts dragged on way too long. It felt like half the sentences were unnecessary at certain points.
There were a few scenes and fights that had the prose(?) that I expected from Masada but they were rare.
I read Dies Irae a few months ago and I don't remember being that bothered with the text. I actually really liked it.
Anyone had a similar experience?

Not to mention Light's awful system. Spamming a single 1 minute BGM for over half an hour and 2 second lag before opening the backlog is unacceptable.

Overall an unpleasant experience.
I think I'm done with Light and chunny in general.

I wasn't bothered with the text but I agree with a lot of what you said, I still liked it quite a bit.
The sequel/FD has better heroines, especially Nanten is awesome and one of the best heroine Masada has written, but Bansenjin also has its share of problems.

Overall neither are close to Dies Irae

But you shouldn't call off chuuni or Light just due to a bad experience, Light has a lot of interesting titles that weren't written by Masada like Gunjo and there are other really solid chuuni game that have a pretty different style compared to Masada's stuff.

Heck even for Masada if you want something with more focus and better heroines try Paradise Lost, the text itself is a bit less refined but more "to the point" in a cyberpunk kind of way

Which character's voice is the most annoying for you? Recently for me would be Kyouko from Puramai Wars, I haven't heard a heroine that annoyed me this much in a while. I'm only two hours in and I almost want to skip every scene centered around her. Yeah most VAs try to make their voice sound higher but with her it sounds like an old hag pinching her nose shut trying to force a cute girl voice.

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Not sure about this specific game, but sometimes having windows set to a wrong options when installing can also cause problems. You could try setting the time and region options to Japanese before installing.

It could also be that your download got fucked so if all else fails try downloading it again.

Chuunibyou is a derogatory term referring to the stage kids go through in the middle of middle school where they act obnoxious or pretend to be cool or have special powers in order to come across as unique or special. Usually this is because they lack any life experience and need to compensate.
Chuunige is usually referring to games with lots of needlessly grandiose writing and scenarios, and complete with magical superpowers and cool looking stuff like all the religious symbolism and German military uniforms.

Naruto wouldn't be classified as chuuni, because magical ninjas are a norm for that world and it's a fairly simple story style where the protagonist and his friends go around doing stuff and fighting grunts for X number of chapters.

I do hate to use the word pretentious, but it would be a perfect word to use in Totono's case. It teases this grand idea which certainly could have been interesting in the hands of someone with a clear goal in mind, but ultimately nothing is done with it. It's never expanded upon and the result is Shimokura sat there feeling smug for having essentially done nothing. At the end we're fucking back to where we started. I would say that it feels unfinished in that regard, but unfortunately we know too well how Shimokura operates.
