Oh and because I forgot to give some info on the fight:
He's by far the most dangerous, at least for a lower life character. His attacks do among the lowest of the gods, but his time stop makes him very deadly. It activates extremely frequently and he can really do a lot in that time-span. Not only that but his attacks are very accurate so he'll be hitting you often, and stopping time plenty. To put it in perspective, I saw ragnarok I think once, maybe twice, while killing the rest of the pantheon. I saw it 3 times on him. Bring barrier and lots of rods of mana. Don't get overzealous with meteors either, you'll want the mana/health as a just in case.

She plays amazingly well. I spent my skillpoints from leveling into stealth, so that I can shadowstep to people, and I can kill most things my level in two or three hits.

I do have a difficulty in actually HITTING some things, like those red and blue wizard people and fairies, but that's when I use the explosive punch skill you get with enough martial arts. It usually kills everything in a 3x3 area.

Oracle.
Not only does it train quite a lot ( probably the best buyable to the spellwriter, as in without considering meteor/wish ), its cost do not raise with level and there's no animation.
It was made to be spammed.

>> No.13552471

>>13552362
As the others have said, Oracle is by far the best spell in the game to spam for Magic.

Oracle gives 22 experience directly to Magic for every cast as a side-effect of Casting exp gain. The only better spells are Meteor (32) and Wish (84).

Then, as a result of training the spell, it gives 103 magic experience, again beat out only by Meteor (150) and Wish (390).

Note that these values are out of 1000. Potential is a straight multiplier (i.e. 200% is 2x), but you face a fairly hefty penalty as skills/stats rise in level. Still, Oracle can be reserved from the Mage's Guild, making it your best source for Magic skillups. Its spammable nature even makes it beat out herbs.

P.S: Magic Capacity is ridiculous for training Will, capable of earning you 1000 WIL exp for every cast after being 5x your max mana pool as negative mana. It also is capable of giving 2000 exp to Magic Capacity, making Magic Capacity one of (if not) the easiest to train skills in the game.

There are several things for martial arts.
It has a grenade punch.
It can make your enemy vomit, develop anorexia and lose stats in the process
It has a 120 turn buff that ads elemental damage to your fists that are the element of your best resist.
It has a buff that raises will and perception, and the wiki says it has some invisible bonuses to damage and martial arts.
You can basically arm yourself with 2 shields to make you tankier and still do quite nice damage.

But, Martial arts can never be dual wielded or get the 2 hand bonus. It has no other invoke but the buff you learn for it. It can never be alive.
Martial arts has the potential do do the most damage on paper, but in actual fact it only beats sword&board style for damage.

It's a very good melee tactic, but be warned you are not gonna do just as much damage as you would do with a claymore and you won't hit 12 times a turn like with dual-wielding.

I do love playing my MA guy though. Started it as thief so every stealth attack will hit and crit and level my stealth quite well for shadow step.

>> No.13552862

>>13552850

I see. I might still want to go through it to get some skills. I don't think I could let go of my sword in the long run though, managed to get that Claymore artifact and it's pretty decent. Damage might fall off later, but hey.

With some relatively quick testing, it does indeed seem that dual-wielded outdamage martial arts. All these were done against Jure.

With clear mind, MA was doing about 50k (damage from hands) + ~90k (attribute) + ~44k (body blow). BakuretaKen was hitting for slightly less than body blow, but you can't use both in the same turn anyways. Having the element of attribute be "magic" boosted it to about 110k per hit. So, at max, roughly 200k per round.

Inner god weapons were hitting about 340k without additional hit procs (~110k weapon damage, ~60k elemental damage. That's per weapon.). Multiple hits would push it even higher.

Magic Storm, at 3x multiplier, was hitting for roughly 580k. Meteor did 1.5m

Martial Arts did seem to stay ahead of other non-inner god weapons though.

>> No.13553038

>>13553006
Indeed.

I never had the illusion that MA would be the best choice to do more damage. I took martial arts because I wanted to have the shield tonfa and the Al'ud in my hands while shooting with a sniper rifle. I know it won't do tremendous damage, but who gives a shit when I have that feeling of safety and know that even if I have to face a <Red Baptist> in the puppy cave's 1st floor at level 3 or so, It won't bloody one-shot me out of the blue.

Anon tactics is only one thing that is affecting your damage multiplier. How are your stats, specifically strength? That affects the multiplier as well. Do you wield one weapon or two? If one the two handed skill can add to your damage. I hope you haven't just been focusing on tactics. Also, what is your weapon? That damage multiplier will only be as awesome as the die or dice that you're rolling. Naturally, a 4d8 weapon will get more out of a multiplier than a 2d8 weapon.

I was in a similar boat to you a few days ago

focus on magic shops, getting an altar in your home to bless waters, gathering scrolls of wonder/flying/etc and the rest should come in time.

securing a constant stream of potential potions from a shit ton of vendors in your small castle should be priority #1 and I fucked around for 230 hours before figuring out how important it was. You must become a whore of all things potential.

keep making that platinum and skill training (assuming you are on 1.45) and keeping main skill potentials high.

Picnic baskets can help too if you have pets.

I am now level 50, focusing on running dungeons for money as I can never keep enough of a buffer and see potenials/other high value shit rotting on vendors.

I opted to grind all the god rewards (except the training wish reward) so I haven't even gotten to kumi worship yet. I just got to the second contient and am trying to work towards little sisters for kumi statues and herb seeds.

Herbs for herb in recipe are now my #1 priority and should make my stat gains retarded with potentials kept high.

keep all spell potentials from 200-380% assuming associated attribute is superb~

}
else {
flt calcobjlv(var_57(144, var_242) / 10), calcfixlv(3)
}
}

var_1978 is used for Ensemble. If playing an instrument, it's 0.

var_57(144, 242) is the "performance rating", perse, of the current performance.

The encfindspec(var_514, 49) checks if the instrument being played has the increases reward enchantment.

The calcobjlvl and calcfixlvl are determining the quality of the item they throw at you, with calcfixlvl being the "rank" (great, miracle, godly, etc.)

I think that's essentially everything that's needed to understand the code snippet. Anyways, that's the only point where there's a check for that enchant, and the stradivarius itself is never checked for anywhere.

Any pet can be made viable. I'm a part time spell caster and overall ranged user since I also use a gun. I decided to go with a melee pet/tank and used the little girl you can get at the start of the game when you reach Vernis. She's now a Valkyrie and is scaling faster than my character. Went with a melee/tank pet because I wanted to cast and shoot things in peace. At first I was worried about my spells affecting her but that's not a problem anymore due to upping control magic and her having a lot of health. Now she's a wrecking ball of destruction and a valuable partner in my conquests of awakened dungeons.

I think you can't really go wrong with the god pets though and the Golden Knight and Defender are pretty popular. They're both tank pets as well. Might want to look into them but as I said earlier, any pet can become viable if you put the effort into them. I should also make mention that dragon pets are nice too because they have a ton of health.

Also, if you're going to use herbs for building stats getting multiple Kumi statues and praying to them is a really good way of getting herb seeds because each statue is on a different timer. So if he's saying that's not effective I disagree on that point as well. Again, until there is a better method put forward Kumi slutting seems the best way to go.

Thanks. My pet right now has almost nothing in resists since I pretty much just started this character.

As an aside, I am in an epic battle with a bard since they have the Stradivarius and I am pretty much running in a circle in Lumiest throwing panties at them praying to the gods they don't land a hit on me.

Pets dont suffer ether disease do they?

They do not. Feel free to load them down with all the ether in the world, they'll laugh it off.

I saved in the Meshera Plant's room, and now this happened.

Was that a bad idea? Am I totally fucked?

After a while I decided to just cut my losses and leave town. If I understand right that bard will still be there when I go back with my pet and something to throw at him.

I finally understand the true power of chestnuts.

How hilariously ironic.

Do you have a really high throw skill or something?

>> No.13581108

>>13581066

Nah, my throwing is only at 39, which is pretty low compared to my other skills. Weirdly enough, I got the idea from throwing chestnuts at myself. Hemmorhages hurt a lot.

You can sell items to any black market vendor to complete the thief guild quest. They pay normal shopkeeper prices for stolen goods. There are two or three in the guild itself or the one on the street by the slave trader, I invested in that one (enough that she could buy my cure corruption potions) so I don't waste gold investing in vendors I won't have access to once I switch to mage guild.

I stole 5 fruit trees per farm from the wilderness and when it grows fruits I just bash them right into the fertilizer.
