I tried everything what the readme says but still isn't able to make to make the voices patch work. From HigurashiPS3-Voices01.zip file I took s01 s19 and s20 folders and placed them into the StreamingAssets/SE folder. The archive file also contains s00 - s23 txt files that aren't mentioned in the instructions but placing them either into the StreamingAssets or the SE folder doesnt seems to have any effect. From the PS3 Voice and Graphics Patch file I moved both SE and Extra folders into the StreamingAssets folder. Tried deleting onik files from the CompiledScripts folder but still there is no voices. Uploaded the last of the game's resources to the same place. One sprite was missing, because it had no face data, so it got skipped during the dump. That's been included with HigurashiPS3-Graphics03.zip, which is mostly system graphics.

Unless I missed something, that should be everything in the PS3 game's data except for the movies, which are in standard PS3 PAM format, and the script, which I'm not particularly interested in trying to reverse any more.

It's untouched, but it's not complete.

Compared to the merged patch, it's maybe 60% complete whereas merged patch is 98% complete.

When I first started merging the patches, I didn't realize just how much shit was missing from the voice patch.

I imagine it won't be hard to make a voice only though, just compare the edits made in the graphics patch compared to the originals and then delete those changes in the merged patch.

I figured GuraGura would pick up on what we did after we finished hence why all of my efforts went into a merged patch.

It's not that it's a bad idea, it's just that it's going to be more work since the time of the sentences already cut off some voices.

I made a ps3 mock up patch of GuraGura's full console ps2 console mod.

https://mega.co.nz/#!n9UyCbQb!XZxOrQZI6YHtcTGhFCVf8aEPmJimv6OcuU4RmBLavrc

It includes both backgrounds and sprites, but not night or sunset sprites (which is Gura's handiwork...?).
Backgrounds are 1280x720, sprites are 1280x960 (to match the steam sprite sizes).
The backgrounds don't stretch as I would've expected, so I'll leave them be in case the game can be modded for widescreen.

I figure GuraGura is completing his patch, however, I wanted to try a bit on my own and ended up doing the whole thing.

I also want to point out that I found a few backgrounds I could find (made a not found folder).
There is also the fact that a few emotions for Rena, Satako, and Rika in GuraGura's mod didn't match the naming pattern in the filenames.

>> No.13561431

>>13561401
By naming pattern, for example, whenever a filename has "na", it's "naku" in the ps3 version (which, of course, means cry).

One that stood out is that Satako's warai (smile?), or wa, is slightly different in the ps3 version for whatever reason.

There were some that didn't align with the kind of emotion you'd expect.
I went by ps3 naming, but that might conflict with Gura's scripts.

Actually, there's a problem. Some of the files are alright (like hm03_15, Watanagashi), but many end too abruptly (at the end of the track, when the music starts fading out), i.e. they're shorter than the originals (by that i mean music from Kai and Matsuri, which i have). Comparing them to original-Anon-converted ones (with foobar), found out that there's a point of cutting off (where FFmpeg cuts it), then the track loops again from the start and this time it ends either normally with, possibly, starting another loop (like in the example; but sometimes it starts from the middle of the track), or it is again cut off in the middle of the track.
Therefore, to give them a proper appearance, you'd have to use the first part of each track and carefully cut the second loop leaving the fade-out at the end, or, maybe, you can simply cut the second loop from where it starts, if it has a normal start (not from mid-track).

Here's an example of a track abruptly cutting off at 1:21 — 1:22 and starting another loop with normal fade-out:

I was able to recreate that entire mod with two lines:

SetWindowPos(-4, -383);
SetWindowSize(1024, 568);

That's based on the windo_filter.png that reddit guy made though.

The only thing that would need to be done from here is to break up every spoken dialogue, and add in name plates to every spoken dialogue.

According to my dictionary, 揺(れる) means "to shake" and "to sway".

"You were such a cute little tyke the last time I saw you!"

"Mion waved her hand roughly 1 meter above the ground."

She is just implying that Keiichi was really small (1m aprox.), the last day they saw each other.

With waving, it sounds like she's going up, not down, which contradicts the rest of the sentence.

Perhaps

"You were such a cute little tyke the last time I saw you!"
"Mion then lowered her hand to about 1 meter above the ground."

1- Since the patch was made kinda exclusively for the Steam port (best version by far available in English), only the things necessary for the first arc were used to replace the old ones in the folder.

There is a lot of other material for PS3's BGM, Voices and sprites/backgrounds) here (https://mega.co.nz/#F!SRt1DTKI!0vSWMtBLaa2VO0bDgfzb7A).).

2- Like I said above, I don't think this patch is compatible at all (including the voices) with Watanagashi. There are however tweaked versions from the PS2 sprites for all of the Manga Gamer's first releases (I'm not so sure about the voices though), so if you want, you can replace while modifying manually the sprites from that release with these updated ones for PS3.
As for the CGs, I guess you will have to add them to the script, which is guarantee to be a pain in the ass, knowing how long is the whole game together.

3- Resolution is quite good, although not widescreen (unless you are talking about the first release). I think no progress was made for a possible 16:9 mode yet (I'm guessing that's because of how MG made this VN structure).

Hmm, I don't want to download the voice files just to fine out, but is the download for that just five million files in one folder or are they seperated into arcs? Also, by resize, do you mean the images or something else?

The backgrounds both need to be cropped to 4/3 and resized to 480p. Just make a script on Photoshop to batch them and do the same for the sprites.

I'm pretty sure Rei is exactly te same (and at worst, that would be a few lines of difference I missed), adding voices to the original version won't be a problem.

Wait, no, misread. Though you were only talking about Saikoroshi.

Batsukoishi-hen Isn't even in the Alchemist games to begin with, so no voices.
Hirukowashi-hen has got major changes because it was done in Kuzuna 2, aka before Hanyu's appearance in the games, so they removed her of it, mainly by replacing her by Satoko in the scenes, replaced the Oishi/Akasaka Mahjong by a scene with Irie since Akasaka didn't come back to Hinamizawa yet either. Shion also appeared in it along with Kameda, and there are choices that leads to other exclusive scenes.

You're losing me here.

Why not just cut off the top part so it easily goes over the main box?
The problem is, the boxes get darker when you overlay them like that.
Unless that's your intention (make the lower box darker than the top box)?

The only other way of doing this is to replace the windo_filter with the cut off box (but it won't look as nice).

Here's a beta of the textbox patch:

https://mega.co.nz/#!3pNEjTQb!HXQJ5khlurNyApDaoGcFiUAqM1aGYjEC7iztzEHB7zM

I focused only on the early chapters and the main 5 characters.

What I want a few people to test out is if the text alignment works on other people's saves (or how it works on a save vs a new game).
Due to how this works, you might find that the dialogue will start earlier than where you saved it.

The nameplates are ugly because I cannot into art or what GuraGura wants.

Also, GuraGura, take a look at the textboxes and just make the edits so it'll work with this layout.
