It wouldn't be a problem if that spell didn't last so long. The danmaku always causes me from getting away from the center, not being able to hit for a few seconds which makes the spell even longer.

Really, each game is only as hard as you make it. If you play specific games more, you'll become more accustomed to the patterns, and be able to recall what to to easily.

You could then go to a different game, and get raped horribly. Although basic damaku dodging will come into play, so you probably won't get raped too badly.

Well, stages 1-3 I use Youmu for great justice. She moves too damn fast to graze most of the later bosses effectively though. I play with gamepad so I don't have l33t keyboard precision.

I've done a 1cc, except I failed the final spellcard marathon like a goddamn idiot. I was too happy to have beaten rainbow danmaku lol.

That said, I love how Reimu's theme just kicks in when I'm playing Marisa/Alice combo. I always enjoy stage 4 regardless of who I'm playing as. Marisa as a boss is just a different level mostly for all the stars and awesome theme. Reimu's harder for me though.

Probably. PCB is like the mid-level difficulty of all the translated games. EoSD is the hardest (seeing as you can't play that one on easy if you want to complete it with a good end), IN is the easiest. I can 1cc it on easy with everyone, Medium I get to stage 6 after losing too many lives against the stage 4 boss and have to continue.

EoSD when I first got to Remilia I was fucking killed over and over again, because she uses fucken FAST spellcards. I see them (shit, gotta move); too late (shit, gotta bomb); too late (repeat)

PCB is really easy until Prismriver Sisters.

And wtf is with MoF. All easy until Stage 6, on which I worshipped the game for providing unlimited Continues, which I fucking needed to beat the last stage. Somehow, Normal mode taught me how to beat Stage 6 in easy.

When Kanako's Health was only about half full, I had no more power left to bomb, and one life in reserve.

And I didn't die again, I beat her with zero power, on normal.

That was a nightmare.

I cannot describe just how much I fucking hate Kanako. Let me explain. On my first time playing MoF (on easy), I ran out of lives during Stage 4. I continued, and proceeded through the game as normal. No real issues.

I then got up to Kanako's last spell card. And I beat it. Beat it on my first time. No bombs. No life loss. 2cc MoF easy mode.

However, since then, I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN ABLE TO BEAT THE FUCKING CARD. EVEN ON PRACTICE MODE, GOING INTO THAT CARD WITH FULL LIVES, AND FULL POWER, I CANNOT FUCKING BEAT IT.

I mean, my god, on my first time though, I did it without issue. And now? Impossible. Fucking impossible.

You know, on the whole, Touhou is a series that is different for different people. In this thread, people agree that EoSD is the hardest. But I've seen PCB stated as the hardest. Harder than StB even. I suppose in the end, these games require many different skills (grazing, streaming, pattern memorization, timing for bombing, etc...) that the idea of which game is the hardest really changes for each person.

If you ask me, the "best" Touhou Game is PCB, as even on easy mode, it provides a challenge, while not being stupidly unforgiving.

EoSD lacks visible hitbox, and you have to be on normal to beat it properly. IN easy is a Joke.

I also think that PCB is the most complete. Not just from a gameplay perspective, but from an "emotional" perspective. The buildup over the course of the game, leading up to the final fight with Yuyuko, with Border of Life in the background, is something that hasn't really been replicated by any of the other games. And then there's the Extra and Phantasm stages, which are completely unforgettable.

It just drains the opponents spirit meter into your own meter. Since most people play practice mode with auto-regening spirit meter, the effect is usually not noticed.
