This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels.

What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know how it goes.

I plan on going through Haru no Yuki trial before Sakura no Uta hits. Sca-ji said it includes mostly the same content as the start of SnU will, so I'm interested.

Also he mentioned planning a new project. Would be cool if it was the Nijuuei remake.

I guess I should have realized earlier, but noone ever talks about it.

I didn't read Sumaga or Totono, so I dunno if I should be wary of Shimokura, but based on the premise alone, I'm kinda hyped for it.

June 2013: Project announced with the name "Necromancer" with just Fukami's name on it.

September 2014: Renamed to Tokyo Necro, Shimokura's name is added.

December 2014: Official website is up and Fukami is listed as just original concept with Shimokura credited as scenario.

My guess: It was supposed to be written by Fukami but it didn't work out for whatever reason so they threw it at Shimokura.

That's what I've been trying to explain to everyone for quite a while. AliceSoft/Eushully games are played by people who are only there for gameplay and don't actually read. Next time I make a thread I will make sure to include in the OP "This thread is for the discussion of untranslated Japanese visual novels without gameplay. Alicesoft/Eushully fans should fuck off to /v/". Shame I didn't make it in time and someone created this thread when previous one was on page 3. There's some absolutely retarded drama that dragged on for too long in the routes.
The biggest offender though is the fact that it's a plot point that the heroines dress up in costumes and stuff for the School Festival or whatever and then they never use said costumes in any H scenes.
As a China Dress enthusiast I found that unforgivable especially as seeing one of the heroines in one was the only thing that made me play it in the first place.

Tamami - There are few scenes that I find her interesting but I don't remember.
Izuki - I kind of like her but it goes shitty as I go on her route.
Asuka - shit story route
Miyuri - I don't remember but she likes the protagonist a lot and that's it.

You could watch the anime, but i would guess it is more fun to get to know the story in the longer version, as long as you didn't get spoilered already. Yes the story is basically the same just with a lot more content. Well there is also some scenes that probably hold some other meaning if you watched the anime. I don't get why somone who can't read Japanese will summarize the game but anyway, I really want this one to be localized and put on steam, Angel Beats has a huge fanbase in the west and they deserve to play the superior version of the story. even if you have no idea about the anime Iam sure it's enjoyable for everyone.

>>13492375
maybe they were planning a vn from the start so they made the anime incomplete on purpose? TK's story isn't available yet in the 1st beat but Iam sure they will get to his story on the other parts.

>>13492386
I have an idea about the ending but that's it. The problem is that the game is really the superior version and it will be hard to watch the anime after it, so it's either watch it now or never.

Even if you know the the general story, there are still all the character routes and all the interaction with the characters that got added. I just don't really know what to recommend, because knowing the story will change your perception of a lot of things. Like that scene where otonashi first gets to the headquarters and the piano version of the final ending song was playing actually made me quite sad. Which obviously wouldn't mean anything to someone who didn't watch the anime. Well i guess maeda is quite good at pushing my buttons.

What I find hard to understand is why some people who apparently hate the English language complain about translations. Read Moogy's longer posts or review, his own writing style is cringy to the limit. The dude can't write. I don't think anyone hates english as they're here discussing things in it. It's more of a dislike of translations due to their often low quality as japanese simply doesn't translate to english very well.

Due to the aforementioned, the experience of reading a translation and the original text can vary greatly, which is why this thread focuses on the original.

I'm playing minagoroshi-hen. I was going to wait until the end but I'll post about it now.

The first three chapters and the fifth were great. Those four chapters put it in my top three things I've played. The fourth chapter was pretty weak. The sixth had a good start but introduced the whole thing of friendship and "rather than worrying about something, talk to someone". The scene in this chapter was alright but it gets repeated over and over and I'm sick of reading it. The middle of this chapter was pretty boring and annoying. But from the part where Rika meets Rena in scrapyard to the end is good.

It has the problem of saying a lot but not saying much at all, in other words, it repeats stuff a lot, even in the same scene.

This chapter chapter has been boring.

The music is really good.

For any given result you could construct according metric. Simplest would be just piecemeal one, explicitly specifying these 3 games and assigning them according values.
But even if you look for generic metrics, you could use metric based on version number, with lesser being better, so 3 > 4 > 7.

I finished soreyori no prologue.
Towa's route was really satisfying, though half of the game, including everything up to the route split, was her route.
It was predictable, but I really enjoyed how it was handled, both Shuu and Towa work so well together and it managed to avoid being overly melodramatic, which is a plus, I liked the overall execution of both her first and second halves of her route.
The other two routes weren't bad, but they paled compared to Towa's, Haruka's had some interesting bits though.
Art was good, music was too but one of the tracks for sex is incredibly unnerving for some reason.
