Will R07 ever write a long game again?

Let's hope not

>> No.13436179

I just want him to write another WTC.

What the fuck? Maybe this won't be so bad.

Romeo and Tonokawa should fuck off.

What's wrong with Romeo, you flaming faggot?

He's one of those plebs who thinks he "read" cross channel.

Nah, I like all writers involved.

>> No.13438282

Probably not. Look at how much time and effort he put into Umineko only for it to turn out a commercial and critical flop. He probably doesn't want to take that risk again.

>>13438282

Maybe he should have actually made the mystery solvable from the beginning without needing a ton of baseless assumptions if he wanted it to be a good mystery.

>> No.13438405

>>13438380
Maybe if you ignore all the hints.

You should be reading Umineko for all the cute fantasy shit anyway.

>implying Taiwan is mentioned in Episode 1
>or even in the question arcs at all

Good fucking luck solving the epitaph or fully figuring out Shkanonatrice with only Episode 1. Which should be possible if it's a proper mystery and not stupid fantasy masturbation.

You would have known it wasn't going to be like that if you bothered to read the Tea Party of Episode 1, dude.

Whatever happened to that game that was supposed to take place in space?

Look at the character in the right page, now look at the OP's image.

Yeah but the OP image has an Alice in Wonderland motif instead of space.

I think between two translations of cross channel it's not exactly a difficult to understand. Even if you complain about their quality, between reading both of them several time I'm fairly sure that nearly everything came across.

>>13438424

You're not supposed to be able to solve the entire mystery from Episode 1, that's like saying you should only need 1/8th of a mystery to finish it. The correct moment is when the detective figures it out (which Battler does in Episode 5). I liked Umineko and had no issue with the mystery, I had hoped for a better ending, but that sort of goes against the key themes/message of the whole series.

>>13438282

True, but he took a lot of risks with the work in general. The vast majority of the characters in the "real" setting are middle aged people in comparison with the youth centered Higurashi. The other characters do not actually exist which makes it even more difficult for them to be mainstream and likable.

Rose Gun Days is actually pretty long but sort of sucked. I hope he tries another WTC sometime soon.

>> No.13439139

>>13438380
Well yeah. I think how terribly he botched Umineko was a big blow to his confidence. That's why he's stopped being ambitious.

>>13438424
To be fair the first 4 episodes are the "question" arc.

>The other characters do not actually exist which makes it even more difficult for them to be mainstream and likable.
Didn't seem to be an issue for a certain very popular and highly regarded eroge.

not that anon, but you clearly have no idea why people like romeo when all you've read is some shit translation.
