Just go with IN or PCB. They're really easy for noobs when it comes to the level of easyness, ample amount of extra lives you could easily obtain, and life hax like the deathbombing and cherry borders. I honestly do think you could play on easy mode just to get a feel for the game until you beat it for the first time instead of getting fucked up the butt by danmaku like a newfag

I remember having a lot of fun with it, and frankly if I didn't start with the PC-98 titles I doubt I'd ever get into them. You also get to see how the touhou series evolved over time too. And IIRC the only challenging boss in the first one is the last boss. Other than that, the game is manageable.

You can ignore the games before the sixth. The best games to start with are the 6th, the 7th and the 8th. The worst ones to start with are the 11th and the 12th. The 13th is often the dullest game in the series. You can also try the photo/danmaku games (9.5 and 12.5), they are very original and lots of fun.
Hope you enjoy the series. Remember that it's fine to enjoy fan content as long as you know the canon.

Death Note was decent but in retrospect it was pretty poorly written. Light his absurd amounts of plot armor and these extremely serendipitous chance occurrences keep giving him an advantage. Compared to L he was just a shitty adolescent on a power trip and I think people get so salty with L's death because it was so implausible.

If this is bebby's first non-casual shit game for you then I hazard that you will actually need something even easier than Imperishable Night on Easy. Back in 2010, Imperishable Night was bebby's first non-casual shit game for me. It took me an entire year to finish it on Easy.

My suggestion for you, if you're literally graduating from playing slow games for people with slow reactions, is to play Moedan. It's an unofficial fangame that's meant to be a pre-Touhou training so you can more easily transition from casual to Touhou beginner.

After you feel confident enough at Moedan, it's your turn to graduate to Touhou. As I said before, the easiest one of the entire series is Imperishable Night on Easy.

Why would anyone ask where to start in a series?

You start at the beginning (in this case, game six), and once you've beaten it go on to the next, and continue till you've played them all.

Anything else is pure heresy.

You wouldn't ask someone what chapter of a book you should start on.
