Abe probably has a few key objectives where he wants to shore up US support-- he also is very conscious of the US Pivot to Asia and wants to shape/direct it so that it aligns with his and Japan's interests.

In a way, this is also a "Once More to the Lake" moment-- as Abe's grandfather, Prime Minister Kishi negotiated similar security arrangements in the 1960s when Russia was the mutual concern. Here his goal probably relates to the current problems that the original treaty does not cover, namely, China's very small but very frequent violations of sovereignty that occur on a more regular basis.

It's really obvious what the US if obligated to do if China invades Japan, however, China keeps making these tiny aggressive plays-- targeting with weapon systems, moving military ships/aircraft in violation of space, etc. Abe may want the US to make a brightline rule as to what constitutes hostile action.

I also suspect Abe will want Japan to get more integration into the international arms market and for domestic production to increase (and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries which bankrolls him probably wants that as well).

There's also some... tension with South Korea... and the sort of really similar role they are starting to fill in the global economy and in the US defense paradigm. So, I'd expect a visit from South Korea to follow this, just to make sure no funny business is happening.

I support Japanese politics in every decision. Japanese culture is superior to our inferior Nanban culture in every way. Everything we introduced to Japan, thy made better (deep frying -> tempura; Disney -> Anime; Pong -> Super Mario).

I hope that one day I can go to Japan and cleanse my inferior gaijin blood by breeding with some willing, compassionate 10/10 Japanese waifu (they're all 10/10 btw). It's mostly historical. The jews were persecuted in Nazi Germany (and russia), and they fled to the powerful nations of the world at the time- The US, Britain, etc. The US then had their golden age of industrial growth, development and all that, so the Jews that settled there not only invented mass media but used it to speak about the Nazi atrocities.
What happened to china after the Japanese shit was that they went through communism, another tragedy of collosal proportions. Mao killed more people than the Japanese did.

And china has a history of that sort of thing. Chinese history is full of mass genocides, most of which most people have never heard of. The Japanese holocausts on china are merely a footnote to what various chinese kingdoms have done to each other, what the mongols did to china, what Mao did to china, etc. Chinese history is written with corpses.
