It does have Anime OPs and EDs, along with other stuff from TV and many of the latter releases having hit J-Pop stuff.

pop'n was originally the goofy family-friendly music game for kids and couples, but grew into a catch-all make shit up sort of music. So you get stuff like a comedy duo sketch or spoken word. It does have a lot of Japanese-y stuff to it, but you will find music you'd never see anywhere else in BEMANI. Songs about Matthew C. Perry done in fast big band/swing or an RPG Hero working at a 7-11

It mostly says they work on multiple games and not just, say, DDR.

Which at this point there's no exclusive artist to one series already. Everyone does a little something for 3+ rhythm games. And that's not counting commissioned artists like Ryu, kors k, etc.

>No Nyami/Mimi cosplaying as 2hu
Damn shame. Dressing as licensed characters was one of my favorite artistic aspects about pop'n. Can't win 'em all I suppose.

>>13386536
It does have a few, and a lot of the anime licenses from earlier games were from really old series. Getting more modern anime OPs/EDs is a common occurrence now while back then it was a rarity. The Eva OP in Iroha, TANK in 11, and Battle Without Humanity in Carnival were considered to be "modern" compared to the other licenses chosen for both games due to being less than a decade old. Both Animelo titles had most 70s/80s licenses and had only three 90s songs between both titles, and two of them were Sailor Moon OPs.

Also, 99% of the recent licenses aren't key sounded which kind of sucks ass, which is probably why pop'n got at least two songs from the Touhou event while IIDX got only one.

>> No.13396292

>>13393322

they specifically said ddr in the email. there is no reason konami would dissolve the bemani sound team when they just threw a huge fucken exit trance party that sold out around the beatnation records team.

>> No.13396546

>>13396292
To be fair, I think they only said DDR team instead of Bemani because it's the only Konami rhythm game that is known by mainstream westeners. It's also not getting dissolved but only merged by other teams, so that there are no more multiple teams working on multiple games (Team Silent, KojiPro, etc). They'll probably gonna still make 'bemani' rhythm games but just not using the Bemani name.

>> No.13397144

>>13394929

Licenses for pop'n are done almost after the fact, now. The lack of keysounds is more proof of getting song masters and porting them without time to cut them up.

Licenses used to be done in-house alongside the originals, leaving them plenty of time to create cosplay character art. Now that licenses are done last per release and potentially while it's already out, they just pick a character premade from old pop'n to suffice. This is also considering that they can lose rights mid-game or even before due date.

Sunny Park had one Ali Project not last the full arcade scene and had one license go unused and later replaced entirely.

Still, Nyami as Rin or Chen would be adorable.

there is a slot on the machine for usb. It was initially used for taking screenshots and uploaded custom difficulties of pre-existing charts.

They released r21/r23 in response to the DDR lawsuit, I don't think r23 is that much different, if I remember right it is just a revision that stops you from having long songs.

Can someone explain something to me, im having trouble piecing this together. What exactly is a minimaid? I read that people use it in their DDR machines to play shit like x3 in it, but if you had a DDR cabinet anyway, wouldn't you just be able to load up x3 on your hardware and play it anyway? Whats the purpose of it? And why can't people run updated versions of mixes on older cabinets in public outside of the reason that its just bootlegged? Like for example, you wouldn't be allowed to run an x3 setup on an earlier version of a cabinet from like extreme, right? Why was programmed world able to get away with running bootlegs in public? Is it only acceptable when you have that specific version of the pcb that you're able to run shit that can be run offline in public or what

>> No.13420776

>>13420683
i'm no expert but as far as i'm aware the minimaid is a means of running the DDR pads/lights/test etc through native usb for a bemanipc

Well it's a kinda apples and oranges situation.

Some people like apples more than oranges and vice versa. They may not have a reason apart from they just do however.

EZ2DJ and IIDX are really designed quite differently to each other so I can see why someone may like one over the other because they like the music selection more or something.
