It's like when I was visiting Florida, there was this Museum Ship, the Ingham I think, and the tour guide was talking about how it sank U-626 with some amount of pride, and on the inside I just kept thinking that the people on board that sub probably died horribly.

My grandfather was WW II vet who fought all the way from '39 till '45 and he always said that it was his best time in his whole life. He flew planes, rode tanks, blew up shit, fought for Fatherland, killed people and generally had huge amount of fun. It was similar for most of his compatriots, by his words. He wasn't mentally ill or something, after the war he became a teacher in school and generally remembered as good and upstanding citizen.

Sadly she'll be stuck in level 1 for a while since I'm stockpiling for the event Should I level her up though? I'm at 200k at all atm but I keep thinking RNG will fuck me so hard since I'm getting AL/MI vibes from the next one.

The only things worth doing it on hard mode for are the extra equips. Epeen medal means literally nothing (oh wow neckbeards will think better of me, that sure makes me feel better, le not guso deidogu xD) while having an easier map to farm works wonders.

There's always the choice of doing hard for more screws/medals for blueprints or farm availability (at preboss node instead of boss) but of course with everything you just need to weigh your options and decide accordingly. Asashimo dropping at preboss in hard last event was huge which made medium worthless unless you were determined to farm Isokaze at E5 boss. Luckerdogs that got easy trophy DDs need not apply.

This is what people said about regular medals when they were first introduced and had no purpose. It might not be the key to Yamato kai 2, but you can bet it'll be worth something in the future. Hopefully they learned from the last event and will made hard mode more reliable for farming as well.

There isn't any "minimum" requirement in kancolle, but levels moderately stack with your chances to beat a map.

It isn't just about evasion, but accuracy as well. Compare how a freshly kai-ed but fully modernized Musashi and a lvl80 Musashi and you will see the major difference.

A fleet composed of just kai/kai ni ships will fare worse than a lvl 70-80 fleet. Anything past lvl 70-80 doesn't give any notable result however.

Don't forget about Ayanami with Skilled Lookouts. I wish there were proper tests done, my anecdotal evidence of SL Ayanami proccing cut-in as much as Shigure isn't worth much and that Nip during mochi event only tested Poi.

Don't forget to take into account difference in stats of equipment - Akizuki gun has 3 firepower while Quint has 12, making cut-in more potent than it seems just from 130%.

FYI, shouha consumes 500+ steel on my Musashi right now which is 2 TEs worth. Including farming for trophy DDs steel is easily the most expended resource in events unless you luck the fuck out with evasion. My gripe with expeditions that there is no good, prime choice for steel when you need to stockpile large amounts of it. Maybe you should actually suffer heavy damage in an event before you talk out of your ass.

Outside of specialised shell types, regular ammo is considered part of the gun in-game. I think the devs based the in-game version more on what it did historically, which is poisoned by the fact that bad ammo was supplied.

How can I help with improving the new KanColle Wiki?

Is there anything in particular you guys think is currently lacking? After the migration away from Wikia we can now build the site without Wikia's restrictions, but at the moment the site is in a bit of a mess, since a lot of Wikia residue needs to be cleaned up or rewritten.

The pages I keep up with most often are the recent updates by Kancolle on twitter, Akashi's improvements, 'elite' ship pages, game mechanics, equipment lists.

I also use the glossary for things like looking up the various artists. Not so much for memes, but those could be left as is or put into their own place.

I occasionally make use of the world and quests pages except on really recent updates where wikiwiki is quicker like during events or fresh updates (they initially separate new quests in their own table on the quest page, which is useful).

The wikia event page was useful when it was updated, since it's quicker to read than Japanese text as a quick reference.

FAQ I use more as a reference to point fellow players to.

I used to use the expedition page, but since the one on wikia changed to be less useful at a glance, I just use something like subway's tools or use wikiwiki.

This is a very minor and low priority compared to actually useful pages, but a few times I've wanted a page that shows all the current damaged ship art in one place.

Having 2 parallel wikis is inevitable, given how power-hungry Wikia is. You need to understand that Wikia is a for-profit organisation that makes money through ad revenue, and they're very strict about anything that could potentially ruin their earnings. The reason why few people know about the migration is because Wikia forbids us from advertising the new wiki on the KanColle Wikia.

Back when Touhouwiki migrated from Touhou Wikia, many of the old admins were banned by Wikia employees, and new admins were made to replace them.

Oh, I don't use AP shell because it's done nothing for me. I use type 32 radars instead, which further cancels out the accuracy penalty. I'll consider the formula for if I do need AP shells though. In any case I still do plan to upgrade the 46cm cannons to max.

That said, I do think it'll be sufficiently cancelled out at level 150 (I intend to marry all my ships eventually). And even if not hankousen it still protects against chuuha, too.

Well, the Fusou-class did get a kai-2 which had the proto-41cm guns as default. They also historically had more 35.6cm turrets than Kongou-class. Same for Ise-class which is basically a modified Fusou-class.
