download "Learning Japanese" from android market and learn the kana. Then decide after a week that Japanese is too hard and be content with masturbating to lewd touhou fanart for the rest of your life.

I would recommend something with furigana. Looking up all those words was a huge pain when I first tried reading Hidamari.

Something similar to Hidamari Sketch?

I want to try reading something I haven't watched/read before.

ganbatte, that's how.

Just keep studying. Of course you'll need to take breaks, those are obviously necessary, but you won't learn anything if you put it off until "tomorrow". Even a slow and steady pace is better than no pace at all.

Yotsubato? But it would be good reading something you have already read in English since you already know what happens kind of.

I have also watched that before.

I'd say stick to manga first so read the manga. Watching anime is more difficult. I only watched the first episode but is was simple stuff from what I remember.

You don't. Japanese people don't even speak Japanese, only high level otaku know nihongo.
