Playing Innocent Grey's Flowers. Just started, but god damn this is adorable. The art is great, too. I've heard about Innocent Grey's other works, and got all of their works, including those from Noesis. The UI looks good, too. A shame that Noesis had to get killed off because their lead artist left.

I just finished 花咲ワークスプリング！trial via youtube. Screw gaijinblock.

It got lots of moege cliches but it was really enjoyable. Protagonist was quite entertaining and every heroine except yellow took my interest. I'm really looking forward for the full release . Also, Red's VA is obviously Hana Kiritani , it's quite rare for her to use some weird pseudo.

I downloaded 2DGF's ソレヨリノ前奏詩 from Sukebei, and got this. I feel dumb but I have no idea what to do. I tried mounting each of the five files, but all of them failed. What do I do?

Mount the mds in Daemon Tools Lite.

Then it'll be okay. When you install Daemon Tools Lite, be sure to choose the free licence (click blue text under the two paid licences it offers), to tell it to not share info about the images you mount and also be sure to properly skip all the malicious shit it offers you during installation.

Then after you install it go to %LOCALAPPDATA%Temp and delete file called bitool.dll, that's adware Daemon Tools Lite forces onto your PC.

Then once you run Daemon Tools Lite, go to settings and turn off monitoring what images you mount, cause as it turns out, turning it off during the installation actually does nothing, cause Daemon Tools Lite is a fucking piece of shit. Also turn off commercial offers etc.

Then you can mount the mds file and install the game. If you want to make it usable for some reasonable mounting software, then use Daemon Tools Lite to make it into a new singular mdf+mds form.

In short, fuck Daemon Tools Lite once more and fuck those who release VNs in this md0, md1 etc. form.

Finished 巨乳ファンタジー外伝2 yesterday and man, it's always the same mellow/sad feeling you get after reading a really good work. The last time I got his feeling I didn't read any new vn/book for over a year, I wonder how long this time it will last. The Kyonyuu Fantasy series is so, so good and it's depressingly sad that the Lute storyline is over.

I wonder if they plan on making a KF3? I think it will be a bit hard to have it set in Europe unless they take the timeline way, way back to the crusades and have the hero be based in Ottoman or something. But then they will have to write outside of the familiar european feudal lord setting. But man, what a series.

Yeah that one and it's easily the weakest title in the series, gotta love how one of the heroines (best one in my opinion) dies and thus doesn't appear in the harem end. Majou's version of the whole "climbing up in society" is almost non-existent (due to the modern day setting) and while it's plot still does match up to the first release, it's just not as satisfying. Also due to retcons in the series later on, it has incorrect information about Ryuto and such.

Oh and the reaper does appear in the harem end patch of Gaiden 2 as well

It's even worse than that, the cast completely forgot about her and she dies off screen without it even being explained in the harem route. They even visit where she is turned into a stone statue and yet Nobody notices she is there, Just remembering it makes me mad and it just leaves a horrible aftertaste when finishing the game.

So, I finished Amane's route in fruit of grisaia a couple hours ago. I had a couple questions:

Are the other routes as long as Amane's? The flashback was like a novel in and of itself. Wondering whether I need to do every single route or not because I really don't care much about makina or sachi and if they don't have any major story implications I might not bother.

I'm probably gonna get the vita versions of meikyuu and rakuen after I finish those, but I can't find much information on how they fit into the original series. It seems like they're more overarching plot focused than character focused? Do they still have routes or is it one story? Figured this would be the place to ask since they haven't been translated before (I'd read them in jap even if they were though)

What where? I have the harem end patch and there is basically no story elements in there. Does the reaper show up in the sidestory patches? I don't really feel like reading emuria's side story unless it actually has some plot to it and no one has uploaded estoria's side story.

Yet another one of my favorite characters getting shafted, the only girl that we don't see with Ryuto's kid in any of the harem endings and because nobody uploaded her patch we can't even play her side story.

It's rather insidious to label it as vaguely as "Get more out of your images". And there should be a similar setting, this time labeled straight, in the "General" tab.

Personally I use WinCDEMU nowadays, much lighter and no worries that it's a Chinese "botnet". But some images simply only work in DT, that's when I momentarily install it.

I rather liked Amane's route. It wasn't as funny in each scene, but the greater plot was engrossing and I certainly wasn't bored. People talk about the common route constantly so I was kind of surprised to find just how involved each character's route is. I thought it would be short but it took me almost as long to get through Amane's route as it did to actually get to the choice where I chose her.

I agree Grisaia falls off after common route. If I wanted to deal with girls that have psychological disorders, I'd date 3dpd. Michiru is best girl, and the only reason I even bothered reading the VN and watching that god forsaken anime. Something about blonde haired, blue eyed, twin tailed tsundere that makes fall in love all over again. I know it's generic but I can't stop loving it.

There's these cool walking sections where the background moves and the sprite (realistically) bobs to appear as if it's walking, I've never seen it before. The game is good at looking like every screen is a CG, so to speak. I'm pretty impressed.

Finished サノバウィッチ main route besides the epilogue.

Overall, it was surprisingly generic for what concepts it was based around. Little to no actual magic, and the MC's power might as well not exist as it is never mentioned outside from a few times in the beginning chapters. There's an aspect of time travel in Nene's route which I think could have been handled differently for some better drama, but I don't think the writers were trying to go for drama in the first place so with that in mind it's not too bad.
The main girl Nene has a sort of boring personality, but nothing really bad I can say about her other than that. I'd definitely say that Meguru was the best and most fun girl. If I find the time to play another route in between now and the 27th, I'd definitely do hers.

After dropping Electro Arms I started Vendetta. While the writing team seem completely unable to drop their silliest habits it works a lot better here. Instead of the lecture on SCIENCE! while hiding from the killing machine that killed your parents from Infinity we get an inner monologue on the nature of victory and defeat while the MC watches his home city burn. Instead of info dumping the most generic RPG rules ever like in EA they infodump future history.
What is slightly grating is that the voice acting and character don't really match. Does this look like someone whose every utterance drips with sarcasm?
Still I have a lot more hope for this than any of the others I tried.

遥かに仰ぎ、麗しの has it going both ways in most routes, especially Misaki's route where she herself doesn't really have any drama going on in her life unlike the other heroines. Though the protagonist's drama is the same shit in every route and you can't really play Misaki's route before finishing Sumika's. Damekoi is similar with the girls having their own share of problems, but also about the main girl trying to turn the salaryman protagonist into less of a pussy by helping him get a job and act more adultlike.
ひとりのクオリア is about solving the loli protagonist's NEET / hikki problem.
I only played through Aya's route in Lovely x Cation and don't know how other routes work (apparently some of them have some stupid drama similar to end of Aya's route), but at least the common part is about the protagonist overcoming his hikikomori tendencies by getting a girlfriend. The later games all seem to have a more blank slate protagonist with no personal drama whatsoever though.

I'm in the middle of Pretty x Caution and that sounds about right. I'm really loving the dating sims style and all the customization, though. You can change your name and the heroines actually call it in game, like in Love Plus. After a certain points in the routes you can also unlock other options. I'm half-way through Sakura's route and can change the settings so she calls me by my name, Senpai, or Onii-chan. You can also give the heroines nicknames and change H-scene settings a lot too.

If you make it yes but VNs dont allow for character customization. MCs have their own personality independant of your choices and even with no face they have hairstyles (What if im bald?) so in reality the only aceptable way for customization is the name.

Besides self insert does proves that there is a mix with 3D and 2D. Otherwise you are getting ucked by the ingame characters.

Well, I didn't really like her in the strict sense either, but I thought she had some nice scenes. I wanted them to use her character more, especially in Maho's route.

I think the biggest problem with it is not the fact that they are traps but the fact that it's just an easy way to recreate a harem setting for moege and then they all seem cookie-cutter if they don't expand besides that for the fact that MC is a trap. Would be more interesting if they dealt with the moral and social implications of it, but they probably just go into heroine routes instead.

How is Yukimura's route in HoshiOri? I'm a bit strapped for time so I'm really debating if I should just do Rikka and move on to something else given how long each route is in this title. In general, as long as it doesn't have retard drama I'd love it.

Just finished myself. I don't find myself disliking any characters so far which is good, but the writing really keeps me going because of its fun mix of speech nuances and actual wording.
Left me wanting to see how they develop the (overused in pop media) childhood promise trope with Tomoe. Aisa feels like a less random Risa and Minori is cute. I'm probably going to go with Mei though, I hope the character routes at least keep some sort of humor in.

Oh god this is so great. Its my first route so I cant say anything about others, but Aori's route is definitely better than every route from Ren'ai 0 kilometer. The balance between moe and comedy is just perfect.

In theory it is questionable, in practice it kinda works out since she is one of the points that causes conflict (and thus events to read) while only being "conflictive" between the characters in the story and not everyone else, so she doesn't come off as a huge bitch... mostly. And yes, she has many negative traits which is why I'm interested in how they'll resolve or try to justify it in her route. The childhood promise thing kind of doesn't give me many hopes though.
