Haven't read the source material so I can't comment on that, what drew me in was the cast.

what do you like about it? it looks a bit like something they made to get japanese people to have babies.

Zeni no sensou & Genkai Shuraku Kabushiki Kaisha.

It's just a goofy drama depicting the unusual setting of a couple with a newborn. Not too many babies in dramas nowadays.

Best J drama of the last 5 years. Soundtrack was amazing. Cinematography was amazing. Writing was well done. Ending was good.

Not quite J-Drama related, but there don't seem to be any threads for Japanese television in general. Is there a Japanese equivalent to the popular Chinese dating show "If you are the One"?

I just saw this show for the first time today and found it highly entertaining. I felt like I could sit around watching this kind of garbage for quite an extended period of time, and then realized that it would be perfect listening practice for my Japanese.

zeni no sensou isn't as good as the original. everything about it is worse: the comedy bits aren't as funny, the melodramatic moments aren't as heartwrenching. all that the jdrama has going for it is a smap guy and oshima yuko.
