I was always sure you would get totally wrecked giving opponent air supremacy in day and disregarded this composition but turns out I was wrong. CAs dodge like gods, CV Hime and Ru Kai are unable to taiha them, they have problems hitting at all.
Opening air phase is bullshit, even with two CVs I got shat on harder than now, without any carrier.
And yasen. Oh man, the yasen. Delicious rape.

If you're struggling with E4, give this composition a chance. What's more, it doesn't even need route support, only boss support is highly recommended. Great if you're low on resources.

4-3 Took her to 35 in no time.

Just beat E4 with the last bit of my resources remaining. All the pre-boss nodes targeted solely Kongou with her being damaged medium upon arrival at the boss node. Air phase killed the 2 destroyers with the support shelling killing the 2 carriers, missing boss and BB. Crossed the T and Kongou takes out the BB one shot, Kongou and Mutsu take the hits both being heavily damaged. A couple misses but managed to get her to around 80hp going into night battle. Clutch cut-in crit by Shigure for the win.

Finally got amazing rng took 3-4 tries to get the final kill while nearly out of buckets/fuel. Last day of the event it looks like so I'll have to be satisfied with 511 and Katori.

They shown up every time because of them being all sparkled. But most of the time they do jackshit of a damage. Only once did they manage to get the carrier and one of the smaller critters down. But then my first fleet abandoned me like fuck missing every thing and getting taiha'd.
2nd fleet kept on missing with boss and two Battleshipclass left and Yasen was one big misery show.
Only shigure critted the boss.

Yesterday I started playing the Chinese KanColle ripoff on Android (hereforth referred to as "FakeColle" or "ChinaColle"), just to see what all the rage was.

Holy shit, this is a blatant and pathetic clone. 90% of the game mechanics are identical to KanColle, in most cases they didn't even bother with changing the layout or screen formatting. I wonder how long it'll be until DMM starts a lawsuit.

Chinkcolle does have design improvements vs Kancolle though.
Maps have their branching revealed so no mindless trial and error or wiki magic needed(for chinks of course). No need to flag quests as active. Better ship sorting. Flagship can expedition. Has what I think is a list of recent ship/equip crafts by other people so you can copy their recipe if you want.
It's still pretty bare bones though, barely and upgradable ships yet. Also upgrading ships need upgrade material that chance drops in a new mission category doable x times a day per ship class)

It's just a worse version of KanColle though. It contains nothing original, brings nothing new to the table, and has no significant appeal compared to the original game it copies.

The Chinese clone will gain a playerbase, because there is hype and demand for KanColle, but DMM puts it behind an IP block. While some can use proxies and VPNs to get past it, less intelligent people cannot, and someone needs to fill in the demand gap. I was two points off killing the E-1 boss. I started playing 8 days ago. I'm sure my girls can do this some time in the next 12 hours. Not getting a sub has been my only disappointment.

Also thanks to the BBs I picked up on E-1 I walked though 2-1 and 2-2 on my first attempt. I assume I shouldn't get used to this for the rest of 2? I read here 2 was supposed to be hard.

Basically the best eq I had. Oh, 20.3 (2) guns had one star each. Quints on Shigure four stars, on Prinz one star.
The reason for Eugen's eq is that it allows double attack during day (transport node), gives good day firepower (only Ru Kai and CV Hime can take those hits well, even without DA) and allows night time cut-in using her very high luck in flag position. The cut-in is strong enough to obliterate anything non-Hime and pure torp cut-in wouldn't be able to kill Hime anyway.

2-4 is a massive fucking bitch, though this is mostly the fault of the compass. The branching is purely random, so prepare for frustration when your fleet goes down the wrong route all the time. Killing the boss when you get to it shouldn't be a problem but the resource requirements of repeatedly re-running the map and repairing damage will be a pain.

Actually, not this time because I switched to this composition when I was running low on resources and time but half of them were sparkled anyway. My Ashigara rarely stops sparkling, same for Prinz, Poi was still sparkling from farming with heavy fleet. Boss support sparkled in PvP because I had two nice guys leaving lone 84lv ships there.

Got Unryuu on third try, run three more because that's what resources allowed me. One unlucky taiha on yasen node, otherwise they reached boss perfectly fine and S ranked semi-consistently.
If insufficient amount of tries is what you're getting on, maybe I got lucky, not enough attempts to be sure. But I know this composition worked for me better than Naka comp, 2DD2BB2CV or 2DD2BB1CLT1CV and it definitely is much cheaper, requiring only boss support and using smaller ships.

Total count for my E4 runs including clearing the map would be above 50.

I pretty much used this for E-4 except I had 2 Kai-ni Fusous with 2x Zuiuns so I could have Saiun on my Kaga and still have decent air parity when Akizuki didn't AA cut-in. You need Naka to take the B->D (easy route).
I don't know what to say about chip damage except try to put bigger guns on your ships or more cut-ins. If your ship cannot do more damage than its target has armor, you will only ever do up to 6%-ish damage.

After all this time I can't see much of a difference between top-right and bottom-right formation in Combined Fleet, with top-right having torpedoes land kills just a bit more. Opening airstrikes for both are kinda shit though.

So this was my first event. Here are my thoughts:

1. It wasn't really that fun. It was marginally more fun than farming drops in an MMO. About as mindless as well.
2. It did get a little addicting once I started getting rare drops and rewards.
3. Having to retreat because one random ship got hit to red is not fun at all.
4. I hate that I can't just use ships I like. I don't want to roll the LSC lottery or level ugly ships because of their luck stat or gear.
5. Crafting Reppuus is not fun.
6. My end game for KanColle is now just getting an Isokaze and marrying her. I should be able to do this by next event once I get the "minimum" ships and gear needed by the metagame.

Favorite new equipment: 51cm. The damage is real. Plus is glows.

Was it fun?: Yes, it was. Even though it was frustrating at times and I even ran out of fuel and buckets at a point in time, it was enjoyable.

There's a thing called weight penalty where if you equip too many 46cm or bigger guns, you have less accuracy. Example, equipping 1x 46cm + 2x 41cm doesn't give you a penalty but equipping 3x 46cm cuts your accuracy in half. There's a wiki post somewhere that has field tests.
