Just lost lvl 15 Inazuma. I know I was greedy for pushing at E-1 farm runs. I estimated the risk of her being hit by boss torpedos to be less than 5%.

Main Fleet: Kongou kai (flagship), Haruna kai, Hiei kai, Ashigara, Haguro, Akagi kai

Support fleet: Takao, Naka kai, Hibiki kai, Yuudachi kai, Fubuki kai, Inazuma kai.

I only managed to chip the boss before that last run, and the biggest cockblock was BB Hime sending my ships straight into red. I modernised everyone's armour to max, but even that didn't really help much.

If I had the time I would have leveled some CAV's and my CVL's instead of using a CV and 2 CA's in the main fleet, but beggars can't be choosers. The best advice I can give is to get radars asap to counter the fuel maelstrom and help with BB accuracy, use top right formation until you get to boss node to try and dodge BB Hime's shots and to use a boss support expedition when you're trying for the last kill.

For me, it was the support fleet, I managed to get Henderson to 20 hp in night battle and got lucky and had the requirements to go night -> day. Then the support fleet came in and killed her and I S ranked it. I guess Kaga got it since she was the flagship of the support.

On E-5 Верный got the final kill and Shigure cleaned up for the S rank.

Resources was never a issues for me in E4. I still needed to play from morning till late night. Sure you might attribute it to my fleet level since there werent max 99level. They were fully modernize with sanshiki but I just can't sink her outright. HP regen gave a huge dose of excitement since if you failed and took a break you are starting all over again. A sense of failure was there.
Nowadays you have two weeks just to sink the final form, there is just no excitement or tension since it is only a matter time until she caved in .

If you have yasen equips, use them. One point to note is that Isuzu can't use the night recon because she has no plane slots despite being able to equip seaplanes, so you have to use Yura if you want to use the night recon.

I've been stuck at E-4 for almost an entire week now. Pre-final runs went completely fine for the most part, but the final form of the boss reliably kills at least 2-3 of my girls which is detrimental when running a setup with only 4 ships enabled for night battle (2BB 2CV 2DD). Because cut-in has 150% multiplier while DA has 120% multiplier, that's the only reason. Even Hatsushimo's double torpedo is stronger than Poi's double attack but torp+gun cut-in would be weaker.

So decided to have one final go at E5 this morning. Once I got to node one I realized my setup on Beaver was wrong, has ASW gear from farming E1. Get to carrier bitch, figure I'll get a ship in the red. Only does moderate damage all 3 times she hits. Get to boss and figure same thing will happen that always does. Then...what is this?! Support fleet puts a BB in the red and sinks one of the small fry?! Hiei one hits the Wo and then takes 100 HP off of the boss?! Only have the one boss and one seriously damaged ship left when second fleet attacks?! Chip at her, sink the other ship, and for the first time all event Shimakaze cuts in for the kill. Wow.
Moral of my blog post: equip ASW gear for E5 because magic.

I just can't hate grinding E1. Despite no drops and line ahead crit to red and just the sheer amount of time I've been here, it's been good to me because:
1. It's hella easy
2. Great drop variety even with the drops I don't need
3. A single transport to clear my dailies
4. I get to level my CLDDs
5. The number of battle nodes lets me clear 10 win daily in no time
6. The number of battle nodes replenishes morale immediately so I can go straight back
7. Tons of decent modernization fuel
