Attribute, at least on pets, doesn't seem to be affected by enemy's resistances (or either scales quite hard off of MA skill). I experimented a bit with the different elements (including "magic") and none of them seemed to hit any differently.

Anyways, I have a golden knight that hits things for about 6k. The attribute hit is about 3k. I made sure nether is her highest resistance. As long as things don't 1-shot her and she isn't significantly slower than enemies, she essentially never dies because of the nether healing.

It's when after you marry your waifu while holding ~200 of your finest collection of inheritable equipment and items you talk and select make a gene iirc. Then it's all in the heir trunk when you generate a character -> from gene file. It's pretty trivial to puppy cave a couple deeds of heirship and that will let you get enough good pieces to begin a steamroll of dosh and reclaimed goods. Think day 1 snail in a godly composite helm, godly feather, with a living force weapon or something. I don't think you can actually inherit those but the point is still there. Instead of dealing with a bronze claymore and rank 20 shopkeepers you have entire sets of top of the line endgame gear a couple deeds of heirship away.

That's your special gauge. It's used for some high-power skills that you won't have for a long time, and when it hits 100% you can use the gauge release skill to make your next attack do loads of damage.

It decreases over time, increases when you take damage or hit things.

The good news is that you can garden for food and herbs and all sorts of good stuff as soon as you buy a deed of farm.
The better news is that picking a less combat oriented class doesn't really matter late-game. Or even mid-game.
The bad news is that it does matter early-game, which is where you are. You'll be a bit weaker in combat for a while. Your pet(s)'ll do just fine, and they get extra bonuses from good food. So feed your pet(s).

Don't worry too much about it. The early game is a shithole of poverty and comparatively low costs. You can change your class and class feat later with a business card if it bothers you. With decent gear and incog/disguise kits you can learn all the skills. With platinum your starting skills are mostly convenience if you don't mind the extra time to unlock and train them up. You're going to be going a fair bit of gardening for plat already and it's a decent sourc of dosh for getting investment going for potions of potential and better gear.

You'll easily get a lot of dosh to first buy a complete set of gear then a slightly less shit set and enchant it at the blacksmith. That'll carry you until you get enough plat invested and ground in easy fights that you're essentially at the same starting point just a little later and with more dosh. And even then, a loli will carry anything through the early game if you just equip it and periodicalyl up the gears enchants a notch.

Starting out as a farmer instead of rushing out to get yourself killed in the local dungeon at the very start of the game has its perks. I just started a new game myself as a gunner but instead of shooting up dungeons I decided the first thing I'd do is get myself the gardening skill. I'm taking on harvest quests which is helping me raise my strength and constitution stats along with gardening. I'm using the platinum coins I get from completing those quests to learn other skills necessary for survival such as cooking. The seeds I also get from the completing those quests I use to create my own garden in my shithole of a cave/home. All things considered I should be in a good place to start actually adventuring soon now that I have more life(str/con) and a food supply from my garden. Starvation is one of the leading causes of death in Elona it seems.

I've never actually seen a werewolf in a town though, that's just what the wiki says. Supposedly you can also find disguised Fox/Kitsune in town, but I've only seen them in the wild.

Set world map with randomized dungeon that come and go.
You can build a house. They come in varying sizes. They're single floor only by default but you can buy upstairs/downstairs steps to have more levels. You can also customize the floor based on the tileset.
No pregnancy, just gene files. You can sleep with anything you can manage to get to a certain love level as a pet though. OK, well, you could be an alien and they do technically have a pregnancy attack but that's kind of a niche thing.
Things age but it doesn't seem to matter. You can also de-age (or age) yourself with potions.
You can't really take over anything as far as I'm aware. You can try to reach the top of the adventurer list (all the other adventurers are NPCs that are generated and sort of do stuff on their own).

For all you crazy fuckers that play snails,
now you can really be a snail!
Just name it pcc_body_3 (or whatever number if you already have more) and shove it in the pcc folder, then turn off eyes/clothes/etc in char creation (and pick pcc_body_3 obviously) and turn off clothing displays at a mirror and you'll truly be a snail for life.
Blue to be able to tell yourself apart from other snails.
You'll probably still look like shit if you ride though.

Okay I give up, what have I done wrong?
I started up the game, said I want to do the tutorial and then the game started running in super fast mode, where my character runs in place, the npcs are making circles around me at hyper speeds and the textbook is scrolling nonstop. I wait about a minute and then I starve to death and the same thing repeats when I reload the game.
None of the keys are responding either.

How heavy of an impact does your race and class have on you in the long run?

Like for example say I want to run a heavy armored axe wielder who magics for ranged combat and axes for melee, would it be best to warmage or go pure warrior or wizard?

I don't want to be forced to min max because of the monsters being scaled to your level or some shit.

Low skill and low skill potential is made up for by spending plat, grinding gardening jobs, and grinding the skill
Low starter str/con can be coped with by some gardening/mining, then a blessed pot of restore body
Skills you don't have will be learned, guilds raided under cover of incognito+heavy armory enchants
You will spend AP to raise your speed in south tyris
Casting penalties will be somewhat supplemented by absurd casting ranks and practice
Grind magic capacity like a fiend and watch shit with MP drain
Randarts/living weapons/ of [element] will provide a buttload of resists once you have enough fame/investment to run into them fairly commonly
You'll limp by fine on a fairy until you're rich as croesus and have enough investment time and gold to flying scroll your OP randart/fixedart shit

So beyond an easier start, I'd say extra limbs from a mutant that will always be riding without a life penalty to make up, fairy resists, golem dim resist, reduced snail slots. Arguably the misc resists and different life/mana scores of the races for a better start point and racial feats like elea reduced magic capacity damage.

The better question is why would you? Shadowstep will jump you right into hitdudes range. Fawn on/web/slow sources will lock down kiters faster than you unless it's too fast. If you don't one-shot in melee you need to be training that skill. If you can, then you don't need to take a 120 hour detour to raise like 6 skills to absurd levels so you can crystal spear shit. Over time melee has gotten a lot of buffs to help it compete with magic and ranged who don't have to walk over to pound shit into jelly so really think on it. After a short warm-up you'll be able to jump into the face of shit as soon as it's in LoS then maul it death. And again, consider that you'll get shining wave, essentially a crystal spear, which runs off your strength and tactics but without diverting a googilion hours into bringing a bunch of other skills up to par.

There's nothing stopping you from getting that heavy armor magic ball spamming wrecking ball if you're willing to go balls deep but consider just how much time that's gonna take. Also consider that you're probably not gonna hit the +spell damage cap with only one staff in your shoot slot, you're gonna need a lot of casting to deal with the heavy armor casting penalty. Like, a lo^20t of casting. And even then it's probably gonna be like a 60% success rate or worse. Not that that is terrible considering you're hitting all the dudes but it's not great either.

Think of it like this. The wider your focus the more time/cost/luck it's gonna take to function at a comparable level if you stayed narrow. That the more you siphon off of killdudes/notdietodudes into utility/misc the more weight it has to pull and/or the more time it takes to cope

Im around level 13, and I've been doing cargo quests from port kapul to noyel and back. I can handle the pirate boss raids with ease, thus netting even more cargo/profits from their loot

is this the best way to make money at this point? Sure as heck seems so.

Light armor is where it's at

No spell penalty and there are some really great late game light armors
It's not even that hard to keep, use flying scrolls on your best items and wear griffon scale. You can still have good DV/PV with light armor

Oh yeah, heavy armor caster works fine. Losing ~1/5th of your offense hurts a bit, but you also train spells 25% faster in terms of training per fight. It balances out close to even over time. The main drawback is all the wasted stock, but mages guild solves that.

So, realtalk time. How much do the itzpalt +resists from faith add up to? Between that and the elemental staff in my shoot slot I may vaguely function in low level dungeons. But then Lulwy will give me the ability to flee better and very slightly prop up my nonexistent speed. Then there's eheketal who's the patron saint of snail tourists.

There's just enough static medals to get the shield tonfa for the shoot slot as an early starting swap once I can enchant my scale cloak enough to have a small chance of not dying en route but beyond that I'm totally lost. Loving Snail tourist life so far.

When you pick up the quest, the time limit is clearly stated. During the quest, you get a reminder of time remaining every 10 minutes in your log. Look at your log if you miss th updates. Harvesting takes many turns, based on your speed, farming skill and the size of the target, though larger targets have better weight/time ratio.

Farming quests in Yowyn are the easiest and safest way to earn pp as a new character. Just buy the farming skill.

You probably don't dungeon dive enough. Tailoring ingredients are generally rather plentiful, unlike Alchemy. I never seem to have enough water and weeds to make the potions I want.

If you have the Jeweler skill to craft 100+ Gain Material scrolls, be sure to bless the entire stack for even more materials.

If you want tailoring for the picnic baskets, it's unnecessary. Lune the maid gives you a large basket on the 10th and 20th of every month, which is reusable.

It gets bad in high level dungeons though. I'm failing almost all of my search attempts, even with 240 Detection, so I'm slowly draining my material stocks. I might even have to go back to the puppy cave...

Use flying scrolls. You need seven blessed ones to bring it under 100s, ten to bring it under 50s.

They began appearing in magic shops at around Rank 400 for me. Even now, when I have seven magic shops at Rank 1000 and check them daily, they're still quite rare.

It's not remotely hard to get large amounts once you can trivially clear dungeons for 5 plat per and panic/challenge quests for 5+ plat per. I've gotten into the low four hundreds once when I decided to clear all the dungeons in NT in a single sustained go and hit two map resets during that run.

Also, cart upgrades take either 1 small medal per upgrade per upgrade, or ten platinum coins per upgrade per upgrade. At no time did it take 10 medals per upgrade per upgrade.

im at level 28, I have like 6 pets hanging out in the doujou while I do dungeons with my bell pet. I'm having trouble coming up with money to invest with

I have been spamming cargo pirates and puppy dungeon for scrolls of oracle/heirship

Is there an easier way to make dosh at this point? As far as main quest goes, I just found the three gems for lomias

You're at the range where spawned dungeons don't have unrealistic expectations of you, so (actual) dungeon diving is a good way to make money that should be significant for your fame/level.

Picking up farming is a good idea, Harvest quests are boring as sin but selling harvests gets you considerable coin mid-game, ignoring the herbs and possible rods of wishing.

If you're investing to get potions of potential to get out of Hopeless prison, the most recent update has introduced picnic baskets that almost make the damn things obsolete. I haven't played early/mid game with picnics, but in lategame I find that I'm buying potential potions out of sheer habit and haven't used them for months (currently have 200+ of them in my 4d pocket.) I also just fired all of my Rank 1000 magic shopkeepers from my house.

Crafting is always lategame-ish for me, and I've never maximized it early. Selling the stuff you make in a shop gives serious profits (though you will need to trek dungeons to get supplies to craft with).

I have no experience with prostitution

I couldn't say. Rogues are pretty strong, but it could also easily be that you're too weak.

I paid/fled my way through Rogues until much later than I actually had to (I was surprised when I found out that I could wipe the floor with them and had wasted all that cash), so I don't really know how strong they're "supposed" to be, sorry...

Purposely fail Harvest and Party Time quests by leaving. But you have to be the judge whether or not the effort is worth it.

The fight against fame is an ultimately futile one. I can't do 80% of the dungeons on my map, and that proportion is increasing. But it's not worth my time to worry about it as long as I can still level up and make money elsewhere.

Deliberately fail some quests.
Good ones for fame reduction are the various fetch quests, as you can just accept them and forget about it.
Also safe are hunting/party time/harvest quests as you can just wait them out or leave the map for a safe fame reduction.

If you don't mind losing rank, losing arena battles works too.
